Why would he say that one could leave?

I don't really see any big controversy at all...

The coaching staff has now had a good bit of time to watch all quarterbacks on staff and also the potential grad transfer. Whichever is best needs to be leading the team this fall. Whomever is at the bottom of a 4-deep depth chart will never see the field at LSU, so he probably should transfer.

I don't see a reason to get all butt hurt over this as fans because that is what is supposed to happen this time every single year. As unbelievable as it may seem, firing the whole coaching staff is just not necessary at this time...

It ain't happening with a grad qb transfer because most of the grad qbs only have a year to play so they won't transfer just to sit out the year.

Depth is going to be really sketchy if we lose a QB to transfer.

QBs are a bunch of pussies these days, wait you fricking turn or earn the spot. Why would you want to sit out a year and transfer

LN will transfer. I did hear that he's looking great and has strong chance to win the job. I am rooting for him.

I think McMillan actually graduates this spring or summer, so he could transfer elsewhere and play for 2 years.

This! Coach O may be encouraging McMillan to transfer so he'd have an opportunity to be a starter elsewhere. The transfer in would simply be a body with a decent arm. It doesn't make sense from a logistical view, but it makes sense if you're a coach looking out for your players.

What coach o is saying if he loses Qb everyone needs to calm down.

He's bracing everyone right now.

I heard LN wants to play asap and tired of sitting on sidelines.

I hope he gets the nod so he doesn't transfer.

That would be dumb to leave imo. I could easily see MB having first year starter struggles around week 2 or 3 and LN gets his shot.

This means MB is fixed to be the starter and LN doesn't want to do mop up duties. O regime would be in big trouble if this happens because MB can't take a hit.

Ed will ruin at least one of the young QBs on this team.

If one of them transfers, it will inevitably be blamed on O. The O hater crowd are always looking and searching for anything they can find to blame it on O.

Anyway, I won't look for O to give us much indication of how the competition is playing out until late in the fall because he doesn't want one or the other to transfer.

Bs. Saban benches hurts for tua in the last 30 minutes of the season, and brings in another top qb after that. And all is well. We can’t keep TWO! One gets hurt we have no qb! Bc the other one left.

When Hurts got the starting nod his freshman year at Alabama, two higher rated QBs than Hurts transferred out of Alabama. One to UCLA and one to Utah, but neither one has seen the field yet as far as I know.

It ain't happening. Etling was struggling in game 3 loss to the Dawgs last year, 13/29, 137 yards. Did MB get the shot? Hell no. O wouldn't trust a new qb on the block.

Here is my question. If Coach O or any coach for that matter names a starter which at some point he has to do, whether he tells the media and fans or just the team, and the other transfers exactly how is that the coaches fault? Barring it is a fair and honest battle for the top spot then you can’t blame a coach for picking the best guy and the other being upset and leaving.

Why cant 2-3 QB's be happy at LSU but say Bama has Hurts, gets benched and Tua comes in plus a another good player on the team, then they draft another 5 star stud, and all is well there??

And they even keep a lot of Sr's who stay the full 4-5 years which is a good reason they keep winning championships with great kids who have talent, then beef up, learn the system and have experience to win titles. However, at LSU we and the announcers start talking about our good and even decent sophomore players leaving after their Jr. years or redshirt soph years.
