Duh dumbass... If they win then we still have some claim at 2nd best team in the country. If they lose immediately then we got beat by a bad team.
This is stupid.
What if Florida or USC wins it all? Can we claim the title.

I remember reading one time how Pistol Pete scored like 30 points in a half and as time ran out he threw in a hook shot from half court and was given a standing ovation by the crowd in Georgia.
Rest assured that what SB did this weekend was Maravich like.
Forget the Cinderella aspect.
It was domination and an elevation of the game.
Any LSU fans that saluted them should be applauded.
I just wish I'd got down on the +200, because I think everyone saw it coming.

Yeah I saw that too.
I stayed in the stands after the game for a bit and saw the team making their way around the stadium. I don't really have a problem with clapping for the other team after they completely whooped our arse all weekend, but a victory lap is a bit much.

I'd be prepared to take this stance if 2 and q are going to make them a bad team in your eyes.

I saw that picture, too...
did you see Mike Lowery's comment on it?
"Played on my summer team. Great guy"
so apparently their team isnt full of a bunch of dbags as our fans are making it out to be
I will be pulling for Stony Brook

I guess if the best 5 teams are in the west conference then the team who wins the east is 2nd best in said sport?

A lot of people were clapping for them when they walked back to the dugout after the dogpile. They were waving and I think the applause got louder because of that.
The thing is they were waving at their 50 fans.. not the LSU fans clapping for them.
People was played.

Did he get a hand slap from all those Dawgs?
Again.....standing ovation != victory lap.

also, as much as it sucks that we had to lose to them Stony Brook will be a good thing for college baseball
and since LSU fans love college baseball more than most, a team from the NE (and a small athletic department at that) being good isnt going to hurt the sport and can only help make it grow IMO

We stayed and it made me proud to see the best of our fans around the field. Some of the people on here really need to grow up and learn a little about what sportsmanship is and what it means to be a Tiger fan and the legacy we represent. High fives to those who had class. Maybe those complaining childishly have never seen a super regional end in favor of the opposing team at the Box... It certainly wasn't the first time.
My crew will root them all the way to the top.
It's a great story.
I hope they go all the way.
And I'll be back at the Box next year to support our team...
GEAUX Tigers!

Sal didn't appear full of douchbaggery but I can tell you that Jankowski, Carmona, the catcher, and Johnson sure as hell did.....Jankowski attempted to cleat our guy covering second twice in this series I would assume in an attempt to break up the throw but seious injury could have occured to Nola or Jones.......did you slap hands with him?

Did you clap and cheer for Alabama after they won the national title back in January?

Enlighten me as to how Stony Brook's victory lap helped, or hurt for that matter, our legacy. Also, how is it bad sportmanship to not stay for a hand slap fest?

Let me know when we lost a Super at the Box....we lost the regional in '05 but I wasn't there because of a wedding and that was before my time on this site....Did Rice get a victory lap?

Sounds great.....your "I'm a Great LSU Fan" T-Shirt is on its way to you.....me I'll be the biggest UCLA fan in Lousiana come Friday.

I still have 2 questions for you.....1) When did we lose a super regional at the Box? 2) Did Rice get a victory lap in '05?
Before that you have to go back to '95 to see the last time we were eliminated at home by Rice but CSF ended up winning that regional. Did Rice and CSF get a lap that year one for beating us and one for winning the region?
