My Top 3 are Michael Brooks, Bradie James and, now, Devin White.

I like Trev Faulk, George Bevan and Warren Capone as my next 3.

I like Mike Anderson, Eric Hill and Ali Highsmith as my next 3.

I like Kevin Minter, Kelvin Sheppard and Al Richardson for the next 3.

frick me - that's 12.

Al Richardson 79-82

Career Stats:
Career stats: 452 tackles, 5 interceptions

Compare to Devin White's 278 tackles in 3 years. If he played another year, he could surpass Richardson but it'd be tough.

Don’t forget George Bevin!

There’s an old-timer... and it’s Bevan by the way.
Not very big but could bring it !

guess he’s one of those guys who played in the dark age of LSU football and we forget how good he was.

He was literally one of our only bright spots.
His 94 and 95 season was really productive.

IMO his 94 season is the standard by which all lsu de are measured...

quote:

Led team with 11 sacks, breaking single-season record set by Rydell Melancon in 1981 ... Also set LSU record for most tackles behind the line of scrimmage in a season with 23 ... Easily led all DEs/OLBs in the SEC in QB sacks ... Totaled 63 tackles, with 23 TBLs for 125 yards in losses ... Made at least 1 QB sack in 7 straight games (from 2nd game to 8th game of season) ...

63 tackles 11 sacks and 23 tfl is beast mode.

Anyone not putting him in their top 5 is young.

Your list is a joke. You only went back about 20 years. Ever heard of Mike Anderson? Albert Richardson? Michael Brooks?

Brooks is better than everybody on your list. He was a game changer.

Highsmith should not be on any top 5 LB list. He was a good LB no doubt but he was not as fast or a tackling machine like White,Hill,James,Minter even. He was only first team all SEC one year.

Just about. No idea about any of the old timers minus cannon, pistol and a few others. Sry I'm not 50. Only know what my eyes have seen, and I dont watch reruns unless I saw the actual game live and wanna reminisce.

And another name I forgot was Faulk I'd have to put him ahead of highsmith too. I should not have to put a number after the top 3

Eric Hill is from Galveston. He's not a north Louisiana guy.

Eric almost never visited here. Was headed to play for Switzer at OU. Crazy to think a guy so entrenched here now almost never stepped foot on campus

Some names getting mentioned were not LBs at LSU A. J. Duhe, Gilyard, and Northern (BTW, a very underrated player). Duhe played LB for the Dolphins.

Also, an old-timer older than me correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Roy Winston was mostly an OG at LSU and played LB for the Vikings.

My top-five (in order):
Devin White (IMO our GOAT LB)
Michael Brooks
Bradie James
Al Richardson
Warren Capone

Others had a great season but not necessarily a great career, e.g:

Kelvin
Minter
Debo
Duke
Hill

Some other names not mentioned enough:
Shawn Burks ('82-'85)
Rydell Melancon ('80-'83)
Lyman White
