He is at any distance approaching 100m. Holliday probably beats him cleanly at 40m and 60m.

Carter ran a 10.00 flat 100m at the Olympic trials in Eugene. He was last in the final heat. Holliday was eliminated in the semi-final heat. Holliday's fastest 100m (ever) was in Sacramento in 2007, and it was 10.02. I think his fastest time in 2008 was 10.03.

Xavier never ran a 100 that fast while still in college. And supposedly Trindon did beat him in a race (i think 40) when he first got on campus.

That Foster kid was pretty fast with a purse under his arm.

DiNardo blackballed both guys in some ways, which is a big reason why we saw many two-sport high school players leave the state.

Cummins was an All-American in Track and was excellent in the 60m. Anybody remember him almost running down Rison of Mich State on a kickoff return. He came from the total opposite side of the field, had to run around two guys and still nearly caught him from only being about 50 yds out of the play.

Dude yeah you're right. I remember one thing that helped Curly bring in speed was his willingness to let guys play both sports. I still say Curly didn't maxamize Kennison enough considering he had him for at least two years I think.

Also Rison left Michigan State after the 1988 season. Do you mean Derrick Mason of Michigan State?

Richard Thompson ran a 9.93 for LSU last year and 9.89 at the Olympics.

My bad, you're right, it was Mason.

I think Curly did have Kennison for 2 yrs, but the scouts from the NFL that came in after Kennison's junior year were dumbfounded at how he didn't start for the first few games AND how little he was used during that year.

Curly was just at another level of idiocy too.

You're right. I think he was at 10.09 in the 100m before he went pro. I thought he was going to give up the 100m altogether, and focus on 200m, 400m and 400 relays. Then he gets it together for the trials this year.

But with Bolt running a 9.69, into the wind, anybody not prepared to run a 9.85 or 9.9 might as well stay home.

Walker Lee Watkins, the first prop 48 in LSU Football. He once played at Brian Piccolo Field.

Eddie Kennisons cousin plays for Katy Taylor High in Tx.

Remember when during a game they showed a picture of him and the guy said, " That can't be him!"

He had a TD run against Ole Miss in Jackson ('87) from the Rebel's ~ 20-yard line where he reversed field like three times and probably ran 90 yards total. I was at the game and was pretty hammered but it was the most impressive run I've ever seen.

I was at the bama game in the Ham, Mickey Guidry hit him with a short pass and he took it to the house. When he caught it, I said TD. They had split the safties to cover the sideline passes.

Did you ever see him in person during that period? First, he seemed really small, even when not surrounded by human Sequoia trees. Secondly, he looked like a grandfather (age wise) at 20 years old.

Quick as a scalded dog, though...

Sammy Martin and Ron Sancho were two guys who - in street clothes - did not look like football players at all. And both were freakin' incredible.
