I don't want Jimbo either and don't want all his baggage. So what?

I'm not ignoring it. I'm fricking thrilled.

I just don't think O is the long term answer and would be 100% reactionary. If O ends up being hired, which is what it seems like is going to happen with every passing week, I'll support O 100%.

He was also the OC of that OSU team that destroyed Bama

Kirby Smart was the DC that destroyed everybody for years..
Dan Mullen kicked arse in UF as OC..

be careful giving credit to OC/DC when the HC is the force driving it

Tom Herman hasn't done shite. Tell me what you are so emamored with about him? What?

You should read about CFB. He outsmarted Saban with a third string QB at OSU, outschemed him so badly that Saban and the Bama staff sought advice from Herman the following offseason. He won a NY6 bowl in his first season as a HC. He's beaten FSU and Oklahoma with a less talented Houston squad. He's very well regarded in coaching circles.

No, it was Herman who identified the Bama defensive tendencies and developed the strategies to exploit them. This is well documented in several media stories. Try to learn about CFB before posting dreck.

Go be a Houston fan. Then you can polish Herman's nuts all day and be happy that he has lost to Navy and SMU because obviously Herman getting his arse handed to him doesn't matter to you. Apparently, LSU destroying Ole Miss last night and the development of LSU's passing game doesn't matter to you either. Only Tom Herman matters.

Ridiculous.

You keep saying Coach O would be a reactionary hire. Would you care to elaborate by what you mean? Wouldn't any coach being hired right now be a reactionary hire?

Well who should Herman consult with so he can beat Navy or SMU?

Reactionary based off the immediate circumstances of feel good emotion

No. Hiring a coach based off his entire resume would not be a reactionary hire.

Hiring a coach based off the immediate year would be.

"If he beats Bama soundly"

Really??? With the way Bama has been playing since their old miss L last season 21-20 would be a sound defeat in my book.

We have to look at what Herman has to work with at Houston, what his coaching history has been, and try to figure out how that would translate to success at LSU.

Bottom line, if Nick doesn't come back, if UM doesn't come down, everyone else will be a crapshoot. IMO

Two things are definite.

(1) Tom Herman was the "Flavor of the Month" in October. It is now November. Time is up.

(2) You are absolutely clueless.

Blocked FG for a td, losing by 3 is different than being ran off the field by a 2-4 team
