toliver will have a really good season this year.jefferson seems to look his way more than flynn and lee did. maybe because they both were second team players last year and practice more with each other.

Like Tolliver has? He has come in, and he has played "good" (sic). He has also been behind some outstanding receivers in his two years which has dramatically limited his PT as opposed to some others who walked into teams lacking at WR.

In what way? What was he expected to do behind Doucet, LaFell and Byrd, and sharing duties with Holliday, the Mitchell's, etc., that he has not done? And by whom?

how hard is it to understand the fact that he hasn't had the chance to live up to expectations because of depth?!

Pretty hard i guess. Coming out of high school i remember people talking about him making an immediate impact his first year and all this jazz.

If I remember correctly, his rating was based on raw talent and potential. He was supposed to be a work in progress.

Hard to say how good he can be and if he's underachieved. Seems like when he's on the field he makes catches and plays. Has lots of talent and is a mismatch for every DB in CFB.

Hope we get to see just how good he can bein '09 (and '10).

Doucet, LaFell, Byrd, Dickson >>> True Frosh, Soph Toliver. Regardless of his Rivals ratings.

Still don't get it...Depth! Cmon dude...Teams that are loaded at WR rarely throw a freshman in just because he was highly rated in high school.

Are you blind? Did you see Dez Bryant and Julio Jones And Crabtree. These guys lived up to expectations. Tolliver is still way to thin. He has not made an impact. Brandon LaFell took a few years to bulk up and become an impact player. Hopefully TT will also. Regardless of the problems at QB, He is not in the class as the aforementioned youngsters.

Tigerjake - sounds like we're in violent agreement. The jury's still out on TT.

Yeah...and those guys went to teams with shitty depth. Doucet, Byrd, and Lafell were better in Tolivers two seasons than he was. Of course the above mentioned will shine, when they have no other great WRs on their team.

Played in 14 games with two starts, gaining 250 yards and 3 TDs, on a National Championship team; that sounds like an impact to me. Or does "impact" have to mean "All American"?

Maybe later but he is not in the class of the other great ones who are proven. Don't let your heart deceive your eyes or common sense, we all hope that he developes into an elite receiver but it is more than a stretch to call him one now.

So has Toliver lived up to his potential or not?

If so, link?

Lived up to expectations? Michael Crabtree shattered virtually every receiving record in the book as a freshman, and you say he "lived up to expectations"?

I try to avoid extreme judgments these days, but that is simply a retarded statement. Saying that you have to be one of the three or four best WRs in the history of the game in your 2nd year to "live up to expectations" is just fricking stupid.

And that means he did not live up to expectations? How many people do you think were seriously expecting him to have already won the Biletnikoff?

Terrence Tolliver was a highly rated WR coming out of high school, expected to spend a year or two making significant contributions to an elite team stacked with incredible talent before taking over one of the starring roles. And in his first two years he has done precisely that, and thus would be right in line with expectations should he step up and be a star this year.

Except for those who "expected" a Biletnikoff by now, I guess.
