Miles caught a break to get there in 2007, I will admit. Saban got a break to get there in 2003, last season, and possibly this season also. So each has one season where they didn't have to have something crazy happen to get there

do you realize Krag was hired as the OC and only stepped down due to his unstable health concerns? Should we have just fired him or stud after his diagnosis?

didnt say to fire krags but 78th nationally, which is a improvement from the last few years is unacceptable. krags is qb coach and mett is showing improvement. what I have a problem with is playcalling, which is not krags job

Specifics? I don't like the play calls when they don't work either, but I am silent when they do.

It has always felt to me like coaching has held this team back.

it's nice to hear that you are in touch with your fellings....try getting in touch with your brain.

JJ, with his flaws, also made alot of plays for LSU and guided us to victory over bama in the non-mulligan game after Jarret Lee did his best to give the game away. just sayn' the truth.

How could this genius head coach not make a change?

if you're talking about the bama mulligan game, the staff and Miles were not going to give JL a chance to do what he always did against bama. the game was close and the genius wanted to keep it that way. the truth of the matter is, "the team" never responded to the physical play of bama and AJ was nearly perfect.

quote:

If you're gonna disagree please give me something other than win loss record. bad quarterbacks on good teams can still win,

maybe in Canada....not the SEC and certainly not against Saban.

quote:

but it holds your team back when you play good defenses!

mind boggling clarity of vision.

oh, by the way....the bottom line 85-20. deal with it.

Ummm, it's not like Nick Saban was dominating at Michigan State. 34-24-1, 23-16-1 in the Big Ten. Zero bowl wins. I don't think Les's record at OK State is the best method to judge his coaching ability.

True, but he did beat some highly ranked Oklahoma teams while he was there, did he not? I guess his players coached themselves up for those games.

first game bama was prepared for JL. after he shite the bed, JJ came in and ran the option, which caught them off guard! bama misses 25 field goals, lsu barely wins. second game saban has six weeks to prepare for option qb who cant throw. option gets shut down offense stalls, lsu gets blown out

noone ever gives good examples of coaching calls. I can think of tons of calls that were terrible. everyone just says his win loss record. with the defense and recruits it just seems like lsu should win more

Did not say he would never win another, but feel he needs to do so soon. As I have said repeatedly, from my perspective the fact that Saban has won 2(two) since arriving in AL makes things all the more unpleasant. If the talent is so good, why did he not win this year?

The OP makes a good point about the QB situation. Hard to say if Mett has improved this year. He is very slow. His release looks slow to me. He seems to have difficulty understanding when to get rid of the ball. He seems to be no threat to run. If the protection is good he may do very well. In his defense the receivers dropped far too many passes.

This year the defense was not nearly so good at preventing scoring as was last year's unit-see TAMU, 'Bama, Ole Miss among others.

The 3rd and long against Arkansas on the last series the other day when everyone in the staiudm *knew* we were going to run the football and we threw a 30-40 yard completion to ODB was a pretty good one.

Why was warecat sneak a bad call? We are a power running team. Man on man, on that play, they beat us. The only bad play calls are the ones that don't work.

What about airing it our against Bama for 298 yards when they thought we would try to run it down their throat again. Other than 3 drives, little Nicky got outcoached.
