Love how you use we like everyone has Cox Cable... I currently get next to 0 baseball games on TV (tonight was the same), I expect the number to go up because I'll have the SEC Network

Again, not everybody has cable or the option for it. Like I said, the poll we had a couple years back about CST put the number of people with satellite tv almost dead even with cable subscribers. I get that people who live in the city have the opportunity to get cable, but there is a lot in rural areas that don't

From what I understand games that are on Geauxzone now will be available through the SEC Network's online platform.

so is the SEC network going to stream most midweek games/non tv games online like on ESPN3? the vibe im getting is that they arent but the schools arent allowed to do it anymore(ex=no more geaux zone). i guess that means we would get less baseball games

This. It's going to suck.

Select few?

My post from another thread last night:

From the network FAQ section
quote:

41. Right now, I see all my favorite team’s games online at the [SEC school athletics] site. Will I still be able to see all those games?

The network is for media rights to all sports across the 14 member institutions. Any games produced by the schools will have an outlet, either the SEC Network or its digital extensions, where fans can watch. You will see not only events originating from your favorite school’s campus on the SEC Network or its digital extensions, but also road events involving your favorite school that you previously would have had to seek on opposing schools’ websites.

We may not have as many total games on TV, but will probably have access to more games overall. That is assuming 1) LSU continues to produce the feed for its home games 2) You have the network.

Maybe I'll get to see more than just a handful of baseball games here in Dallas. I love LSU baseball, but there is no TV coverage here in the Dallas area. The network will give the game a broader audience. I think It will help overall although there will be disadvantages in the local market at first.

I am afraid the SEC will politisize it by playing games they want to promote. Like you know who?

But if they feed areas our teams games then that would be fair to me. Then you have money. How much money are we are gonna have to dish out. This won't be a free thing will it?

Texas aTm came to the SEC so this wouldn't happen. If they try to promote one school more than another there will be massive backlash.

It hasn't had any impact thus far. All 14 universities (and 11 states) have not been equally represented when determining scheduling, event locations, coverage, and officiating so I don't know why we think it will change.

I'll be getting all my LSU sports live or via internet. As long as the SEC HQ is in Gumpville I won't spend a dime on the SEC Network.

Was told all SEC baseball games will be on one of the ESPN channels or streamed on espn3. Guess we will find out soon.

sec network BS. It's just not right to push out local groups like this - I bet nearly every SEC school has their own team getting screwed by this deal.

Jesus Christ.

Yeah, now LSU can have nationally televised games on ESPN instead of games that don't even make it all the way through Louisiana done on a shitty quality broadcast. Totally getting screwed.

How fricking unbelievably stupid.

I don't care about CST since I have direct tv but I am going to miss GeauxZone. It was my first year as a member and I was really pleased. Most of the games that were on CST were also on Geauxzone, I don't think we will be able to see as many next year.
