You're in the playoff or a really important bowl game and you opt out... Kind of a dick.

The fans made LSU football. With out fans LSU would not have a TAF that pumps millions and millions of dollars into the program. I can promise you that not a single donation was made to TAF because of Damone Clark or any other player. So, yes he does owe the fans.
On another note, LSU owes the fans a better game day expirience among other things. If no fans show up LSU is fricked and so are the opportunities afforded to the players. Players have that opportunity because of the fans. I don't get why people shite on fans. Fans deserve a lot more than they get for the most part.

What are you talking about? He was not good and developed into really really good as a result of being at LSU. Everything he is a about to have is a direct result of his development at LSU. How do we not deserve players like that?
Nobody I know is mad he is opting out of a Texas Bowl to get ready for NFL. We would all do the same if our professions/crafts were the same. Glad he improved, is about to get paid and wish him nothing but the best. However, to say we do not deserve players like him is just wrong.

I haven't really seen anyone complain about his decision. It's par for the course these days. Unfortunate, but the norm.
He was a stud this year once the scheme allowed him to start playing downfield. It allowed his speed to really show and really removed his weakness from the field. Honestly, he should have won the Butkus.
