I'm hearing that he will be lined up at DE on special pass rush plays.

The Colts Bob Sanders was a short safety but weighed about 200lbs. Mathieu is about 186lbs but he is very stout. I could see him putting on 10lbs and being effective.

Comparing somebody to Bob Sanders means they'll be the opposite of effective.

Not sure what you mean. He doesn't carry much muscle mass.

Shhhh. Never mind he wasn't really a great cover guy in college, IF IT'S SAID ON THE RANT IT MUST BE TRUE.

He will be an impact player, but will miss a lot of games due to his small frame. I think another poster got it right with Bob Sanders, playmaker, but usually sitting on the trainers table.

He can be a Troy Polamalu type player IMO

I don't believe Tyran can ever be anywhere near as good as Troy. He was a great college player but he freelanced a lot and had a great supporting cast as seen by the last few drafts. The skill level in the NFL is on another level. Troy is bigger, stronger, and faster. I do think Tyran will be good on special teams though. That will be his niche. I also doubt with money in his pocket he will stay out of trouble. I guess we will see. I am indifferent to what happens. I don't really understand the obsession with him since he was thrown off the team. He wasn't even playing last year.

I understand what you mean, but I think what you meant is how much muscle weight can he put on and still be as effective; 5lbs, 10 lbs? We shall see.

The only thing that is interesting is that his added value as a returner will probably go largely unused.

I thought that too, but he was also a hell of a gunner on kicks and punts as well.

Not much muscle mass. He is pretty jacked up from pictures I have seen.
