I'm the opposite. I'm of the persuasion that Miles should have never kicked him off the team no matter what. nothing he did was worse than what Jefferson did to this franchis.

Ran 100m and 200m in HS, fastest time was 10.9 for the 100m. I cringe to think how much faster I could've been with a faster start. I had a slow 40 time because I wasn't the fast out of the blocks
Way to make this thread about you.

I doubt he would post that he may run it if he wasnt close already.
I expect him to really open some eyes in the cone drills. I have seen some videos of him doing cone drills, bag drills, basic change of direction drills. He changes direction faster than any player I have ever seen. He can run full speed in one direction and turn around and be at full speed again with little effort. its really impressive and that is one reason he causes so many turnovers. QB's dont expect him to be there quite so fast and throw picks. RB's dont cover the ball up fast enough becuase they think they have a second or two and he closes in and strips it. I'm gonna be rooting for the kid, loved watching every second he was on the field.

I know

I was just saying that speed is pretty dynamic, while still tooting my own horn.

yes this is more of a range than 4.5-4.55 or 4.6
Please quote me where I said Mathieu would run a 4.6

Wasnt aiming it toward you...some were sayin mid 4.5s

I think hes a mid to low 4.4s.
So do I.

But, if hes running in the 4.4s right now, shaving off a few 100ths of a second is not unrealistic
Going from a 4.45 to a 4.39 is not a "few 100ths of a second". Shaving off that much time is huge.
quote:
But, Tyrann is an exceptional athlete who can run in the 4.4s
Never said he wasn't. Anything in the 4.3 range is ELITE speed. I don't think Tyrann Mathieu has elite speed to the likes of Ron Brooks and RGIII.

Shaving off a few milliseconds isnt unrealistic for him.
We aren't talking about milliseconds.

you just countered your own argument...RGIII didnt run a 4.3 so he isnt elite by what you just said...am i right ? and i believe if you run 4.43-4.47 regularly with the correct coaching and getting technique down correctly you can have drastic jumps to 4.39

No I didn't

No I said 4.3 was elite. I didn't say anything over that is NOT elite.
Yeah official RG3 was a 4.41, I was thinking back to unofficial which was a 4.37. Even strengthens my point. I don't think Mathieu is as fast as RG3, therefore, I do not think Mahtieu will run a 4.39.
Ron Brooks ran a 4.37. Mathieu is not that fast.

Wrong. If you are running a 4.46 or 4.47 regularly, you are not going to shave it down to a 4.39 by having better technique unless your form just completely sucks arse, which it doesnt if you moving that fast.
Not sure why the hell you want to argue this so damn much. I have said multiple times I think Mathieu will run in the 4.45-4.50 range. My opinion doesn't mean shite, but the fact is you dont go just run a 4.39 because you train on your form. We could all be wrong and he could come out and run a 4.30. I would be willing to bet a lot of money that he doesn't though. I'm not bashing him or saying that he will be slow and I am not saying he isn't working hard or that he isn't a great athlete. But running a sub 4.4 would put him among the fastest players in the NFL and I just don't see that happening.
ETA: The point you are missing by continuing to talk about improving with training on his form and technique. EVERYONE is doing the same thing and working just as hard as he is. So my point is, everyone has still worked on their form just as much as he has and still only a handful of players ever get a sub 4.4 40. I just don't see him being among the elite top 5 or 10 speed wise in any given combine.

I think anyone that was 1/100th of a second from breaking a national record has elite speed. Anyone that has to turn down the Olympics to play football has elite speed. But what do I know

TM deserves as much grace as anyone posting here.
Actually, more.
His contributions have been far greater.
Roll with it, HB.

You know what's going to be awesome. This guy with several hundred thousand in his bank account. His decision making will likely improve at that point.

I think he is a 4.4 guy.
I'd love to see him get 4.3.
Geaux Tyrann!

Hmmm, not sure about that. Don't get me wrong, I'd love for it to happen but I don't know.
I do wish him well though.

Hope he does well but i still won't forget how he selfishly put himself and his vices before his own teammates and school

Pretty much sums up how I feel about him. I don't hate the kid or wish anything bad on him at all.
Hope he can get himself straightened out.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is this "Big Six" thing I see some posters using?
It's really piquing my curiosity.
