That's good of him to say that. The haters will twist it around, of course. I give him credit for saying that. I wish him well.

How or why would anyone twist that around? That's ridiculous. Just because people are critical whether we have a right to be or not, doesn't make someone have no soul. This type of black and white thinking is infuriating. I think Miles is a stand up dude, but that doesn't mean he's perfect or can't become much better of a coach by addressing obvious issues.

Oh did you guys read the comments that keep coming in between 1 and 5 a.m. across the nation? If this guy wasn't an athlete he'd be the perfectly normal 20 something. Since I was 16 the majority of the people I knew smoked weed(and I knew/associated with a wide range of people). When my friend first started smoking a while back he said he promised that he'd stop and I told him how hard it was and he wouldn't be able to(I'm talking cold turkey). Less than three months later, he was back on it.

Hell when you got shite tons of youtube vids of guys a girls lightin up and grower's vids where everybody in the comment box sounds like a freaking expert on it, and they're getting hundreds of thousands to millions of views, then it's not that big of a deal to anybody but the high pedestal bozos.

I mean I don't get it, some people would get impaired faster from drinking alcohol than smoking some weed. Why is it so much controversy over this compared to things like guns or alcohol when they are in the top ten causes of death every year? Should we ban them too?

It is 2013 and we are still arresting and judging(frowning upon) people over strains of plants. Do you guys see how stupid that is? Not killer plants, not plants that could debilitate you for months or years. We're talking about something that mellows you out for a few hours and whose side-effects(not for every single user) includes: more frequent coughing, black gums, darker lips, and the munchies.

/rant. I am now off my imaginary soapbox.

I think that the whole "honey badger" superstar attention that he got was overwhelming. If I remember correctly, he had media attention from all over the world at one point, as crazy as that would be. That attention, to me, led to his downfall

Somewhat true. I smoked weed daily for 5 years, when I got a job that involved random drug tests I quit cold turkey. Had cravings for about a week and that was that

I hate this for tyrann. But I hate our fans that bad mouth these kids and the coaches. He made mistakes like many athletes before him. It happens and no one is going to stop these things from happening.

He sounded more intelligent and selfless in that 1 minute clip then I have ever heard in any interview in the past. Good for him. Hope he can turn it around and sustain a career in the NFL.

That is the diff. Everyone is jumping down each others throats. You want more out of miles, but why? What real benefit does that have? Every coach screws up. Bill belichik loses games. Sean payton is not without flaws. Nick Saban has lost to plenty of teams with inferior talent.

You know it's getting pretty bad when people see something, the first thing they think to do is to start arguing against arguments that they imagine a certain group of other people will make.

I believe most fans were pulling for him so hard, that when he got in trouble again they jusf felt let down by him. Like they cared and he didn't. I don't think fans were hatin, but more let down because they seemed to care more about his future then he did. I hope he makes it this time.

Did you notice he didn't say he was addicted to weed? He said "maybe" and that he made a habit of it. He owned up to that and the fact that it's a mental thing.

I sure hope he's learned his lesson for real this time. He could have a stellar career.

For me personally, it's not about the drug.. I am all for legalizing it and people using it responsibly.. However, being a star athlete at a top-flight program with all of the potential to be an NFL star, he should know to stay away from literally anything that could cause his career to be hurt. Instead, he continued smoking. He got busted once... I think everyone gave him a pass, thinking the same thing you did. "Ah everyone his age is smoking pot, not a big deal, he'll stop". Well, lo and behold he didn't stop. He got busted again and that really seemed to be when he lost support from the fanbase, at least. The fact is, whether or not marijuana is all that harmful, it's still illegal and for someone with such a bright future to just throw it all away on something so stupid... it's frustrating to watch. Not only once, but twice.

+1.
I can't speak for TM7 but knowing his backstory and my own experiences with weed, I understand how he could fall back into it or lean on it in times of stress and anxiety.
He said everything I have wanted to hear from him on the subject (I guess im as selfish as the rest of us) and as far as Im concerned its all water under the bridge.
Can't wait to get a TM NFL jersey. It will be my first one ever.

Certain grades of pot to certain people is addictive as a mutha. I know tons of pot addicts who have toked daily for over a decade and they will probly die as old men toking chronically. Especially the newest strains that have round 10-20 times the THC that schwag does, talkin sensimilla, pure female flower variety, grown indoor under lights. The stuff on the cover of high times wit all the crystals on it. The stuff they have cross bred for years like, the pit bull breed of pot. This is what's mostly out there these days and schwag is almost getting extinct.

It affects some people differently, but for most after chronic use of this product, there is a STRONG withdrawal. And that withdrawal is so bad it lasts for months for some people, at least a month for most. But this is only from chronic use, probly like Ty was doing.

This is why : pot is different than most other intoxicants in that it is stored in fat cells, this makes it "trickle" out much slower when detoxing and it makes for a nasty withdrawal that lasts longer than other drugs. This withdrawal is so painful and annoying (cant really sleep, cant really eat, irritable, depressed, anxious, cant concentrate, 100+ cravings a day) that it makes people wanna toke again just to relieve these symptoms. and thats the addiction in action, and that's JUST the physical component. Anyone who disagrees with this is either inexperienced or uniformed on the matter or possibly in denial of their own prob. But remember, I said, some people dont get it that bad, but most do.

And it comes in waves where u feel okay for a bit and then like shite again. Its not as bad as all the other withdrawals incl alcohol, but lasts much longer and its certainly not a harmless, benign substance.

If used, it must be used sparingly. I'm talking the good-good here, not some dirt. Tyrann was probly on the goods. Add to all of this pre-existing depression/anxiety, etc from a traumatic childhood & predisposed genetics (pretty sure his mother was an addict) and u have one tough problem to solve.

It happens quite a bit and will be increasing for the years to come while society adjusts to the end of its useless prohibition combined with all that crossbreeding and upping the THC in strains that science has produced, not nature alone. Still hell of a lot better n safer than booze n bath salts, etc. LSU needs to implement the Saban and NBA policy on weed. If not, we will lose plenty of players in the coming years to this same thing. It clearly didnt affect Tyrann's ability on the field. Hell, it probly helped him dream up new, unconventional ways to attack a ball carrier. remember?... "U gotta dream about those plays days before the game."

But foe sho, the QB cannot toke, or we will lose every game. But heavy booze burns the dome as well, worse than pot actually. But we dont test for that. So, more of a complex problem than many who think he just wanted to get high might think, eh? And there's a whole lot more, pot's a psychoactive drug, inherently complicated in its effects on the brain.

It's because some people - especially young men - haven't yet developed the humility that begets tolerance. Each time we fail it moves us in that direction. Luckily, I've moved way far that way.

Thats why I posted it. Our fans are getting so damn bad, its embarrassing. I read on here that a lot of people think the players hate Miles. Wanted to put this on here. I'm sure there are some guys that are disgruntled about how their own career turned out, but I think most of the players really love Miles.

I haven't read ONE post where someone has said "the players hate Miles." Take your bullshite somewhere else. That's the sunshine pumpers spinning the story when someone calls out Miles' horrendous offense.

I'd wish him well too - but he hasn't exactly shown a "good faith" effort. I've been saying this for a long time: he needs to take a humility pill.
