why pay the extra money to attend LSU vs. going to UL to recieve the same piece of paper? Do you really think your going to get a 'better' job? do you really think the employer really cares where you attend? Do you think you will get hired because your paper has LSU written on it?

If you plan to live in Baton Rouge or anywhere else in the country beside Lafayette the rest of your life ..Go to LSU.

Else go to ULL. We don't need the additional traffic anyway.

LSU's admission requirements are laughable. Not too much better than ULL's.

So, LSU's admission requirements are laughable, but they're still hiring than USL's. Yet you're here beating your chest about what a great college USL is and how LSU is "Louisiana Sports University".

Go away. Find a DeVry board and tell them how great USL is.

Thats great that you have pride in your school. The question is why do you insist on calling your school a name that doesn't exsist?

I guess if I went to Louisiana Sports University I would care more about things like the budget for athletics. Since I go school to learn, that's not too important to me.

Is ULL academically better than LSU in any degree field.(not saying ULL is a horrible school to get a degree from just asking)

What I do know about LSU is that they are the only tier 1 school in the state. Only school with multiple colleges in top 100(Science,engineering,ag and more). What does ULL have to offer on a nation wide type academic ranking.

If I was a graduating high school senior who could go to a lot of universities across the nation for free (I was), not much at all would make me want to go to ULL. Try going to a different state and asking them if they know what city the "University of Louisiana" is located. Odds are not many could tell you. No one sees ULL as a highly prestigous academic university other than the yourselves. And i'll forgive you for the mispells btw, I'm a chemical engineering major and I too cannot spell to save my life. As long as you get the point across, you're good to go in my opinion haha

Pretty common knowledge that bigger institutions with higher admission standards are thought more highly of than small institutions.

Keep telling yourself otherwise though.

Cool. You guys have an auditorium that shows pretty 3D stuff. All it says is that yours is the biggest; not the only one.

not knocking any of the schools mentioned but LSU is respected a hell of a lot more than any other public school in the state and its students will get the job if everything is equal

I guess this thread pretty much describes LSU's fanbase. I came in here as cool as a cucumber looking for a little mutual respect and instead I get attacked by every poster.

You don't respect folks by trying to take some shot about their Hoops fan's turnout.

Your logic is as flawed as your line of thinking. Par for the course.

Enjoy the W, and the fact that your University will stop at nothing to NOT be called by its actual name.

For all your "academic jingoism", you don't get that it all starts at home. When your school loathes itself so much it tries to change its name at every stop, what does that say about the institutions leaders, and their mindsets?

Have fun at UL-L.

Agreed. Problem is, when you actually go in for an interview, do you really, really think the guy interviewing really cares where you graduate from?
If you do, keep telling yourself that as you have spent mom & dads money. All they really care about is if you graduated, what potiental do you have to do the job your applying for.
