OM had 7 1st half possessions - LSU had the ball less than 12 minutes in the 1st half when OM scored their 2nd TD.

Defense allowed 3 points on OM’s 1st 5 drives.

I understand that but we didn’t play well in first half either.

Despite the lack luster offense.

Its not the time its the number of plays and the pace that Ole Miss runs them!

Yes... and that's due to the tempo LSU was running at vs OM.

OM ran 84 0lays while LSU ran 56.
OM ran 50% more plays than LSU.

Quit defending the defense, they were ALSO responsible for the loss.

They had moments of good play, and at times played well.

They also gave up an 18 play, 83 yd drive... on the 3rd possession. You shouldn't be gassed then. That drive is a lot of what skewed the first half.

If you look at the Ole Miss drives, we got some 3 and outs, but if they got that first 1st down, they would then cruise up and down the field. As pointed out above, that started on the 3rd possession, with the defense fresh after 2 straight 3-and-outs.
We still held them to a FG, and should have scored more (Nuss' interception stopped a good drive). But we had the lead, until they scored TDs on their last 2 drives, which were 70 and 69 yds. And they were going in for another TD until we got the fumble. So at that point the defense was as compromised as the offense.

In the second half, we actually had time of possession. And we scored to get within a TD with 5 minutes left, on a 15 play, 6 minute drive. That gave the defense some time to rest, and plenty of time to get the ball back to win. If you want to call yourself a great defense, you fricking rise up on that drive and do it.
