How stupid. Yea,LSU fans were packing the PMAC during John Brady's tenure. Was Brady a black guy who just kept seeing ghosts ,or something ?
I guess he got tired of being accused of being an LSU homer. What better way to shed that than calling us Klansmen.Idiot.

Brando goes Respect hell give your own program some respect
ding,ding...we have a winner.
quote]Maybe the reason LSU fans are not supportive of LSU Basketball is because of race[/quote]
he has been maintaining this position/social theory for years, BTW. I don't think he misses an opportunity to voice this opinion. But to be fair to Brando, he indicates this is a 'Southern' condition, not just an LSU phenomenon.
More importantly, i don't think that he was implying that LSU fans are racists. Here again I believe he was theorizing about the less-than stellar support of college hoops, historically, throughout the South. Which I believe his observations have some merit.
At the end of the day, it's your observation and you can call it what you want. But IMO slapping the 'racist' label on everything tends to stifle meaningful discussion.

Pretty incredible
No, really is was pretty insightful. Maybe if people would take a moment to truly consider what he was pointing out here, we could have some meaningful improvement in race relations. But putting the 'racist' spin on something without examining the merits of the position does noting put perpetuate racial discord.

Tim is correct. I hear the N word at least once every time I go to a LSU watch party here in Tampa Bay. Makes me sick to hear it so I stopped going.
You are full of shite and you don't even live in Baton Rouge so STFU. There are hints of racism all over North, South, West Coast, and East Coast. But is has become much better for everyone blacks included over the last 25 years. For Tim Brando to try to hurt LSU's reputation is unacceptable. And for you to talk shite from 800 miles away is also. Every fan I know is excited about the job TJ has done, and it has nothing to do with his skin color arse hole. If he keeps winning the more support the team will get. If it was about race he wouldn't have been hired in the first place, You and Brando can STFU and you can go support someone else.

LSU will learn a lesson from John Brady.
Keep a coach that 90% of the fanbase hate for that long and it will kill attendance.
In the end money is the bottom line.

Had a good laff a few yrs back at Brando's expense. A good friend is a St. Trooper & he stopped Brando on I-10 for hitting 85 on his radar. He said that Brando literally jumped out of his vehicle..a major no no to begin with...and starting yelling his network ( which ever one he was working for at that time ) ID card & basically telling my friend that he didn't know who he was stopping. My friend let him rant for a bit, Brando was getting more & more worked up because the trooper wasn't talking...and then finally stepped up, pushed his index finger into Brando's chest, & told him he had 10 seconds to stfu or face charges of attempted intimidation of an officer. He was going to let him geaux, but ended up writing him up & marking the ticket in such a way that it couldn't get fixed by some big shot..

Glad Tim is bringing light to this situation. We all know LSU is the only campus with racists in the nation.
I hope people don't think there's no racism at Gramblings, Southerns, Mizzou's, KU's, USC's, UCLA's, FSU, Miami, FAMU, Washington, Georgetown and all the other colleges and universities in the nation.

From what I have read in newspapers and magazines and scene on network television, that is not true. It is only something that continues to linger at SEC schools. Mainly the Mississippi,Alabama schools and LSU. These are the only universities where racism still exists.

His reasoning:
THought 70 perecent of the players on the FootBall team are black they are still perceived as purple and gold and with uniforms plus they are far away they don't have to deal with they are black
This is insane , well ,yea the team will be percieved as purple and gold. I sure hope so

Good, and people say justice is blind.
I had a ticket marked like that too, but the chief fixed it and told me to keep quiet next time i got stopped.

quote:I agree. I hear the N word every time I go to any party anywhere. I hear it from black people, white people, hell I even have a friend that is Asian that uses this word as well. Before anybody replies I know that they are using it in a different context. I also know some of my black friends say Cracker, honky, white boy whatever. Guess what racism is everywhere for all races around the world. Our Lsu parties have all races at them and everyone gets along fine. I personally think it is not a big deal to the younger generations. I also think that there is as much or more racism in the northern part of the country as anywhere.
I hear the N word every time I go to a Lsu party here in Tampa.

If LSU is considered racist then what is Duke considered?

I work with a couple of ladies who are from Indiana and they are scared of every black person that walks in the door.
Yet, they think that they are not racist and people from La. are

That's is a HUGE stretch to try an force your agenda on someone.
An LSU fan didn't know who Trent Johnson was so the entire SEC is racist?
Sounds like he needed to make waves to drive up ratings.

If you followed BB at all last year you knew him from the Big Dance.

Racist? You think Louisiana is racist. You should try moving to Atlana. It's like I went back in time 30 years. This place is so racist and segregated, it is not even funny. Gotta go now. Gotta go put my Rebel Flag decal on my car, so I'll fit in.

That's bullshite.
LSU hasn't supported basketball because of a dumbass coach in over his head who was white.
Now, some excitement is slowly but surely building about the program because of the new coach, who is black.

What I am waiting for is somebody tell us the context and entire quote, leading up to the paraphrase of this "quote". Did the original poster hear the entire segment or what lead up to the segment, or are they taking a bit and turning it into something bigger than it is? Is Brando Campanis or is he Thomas?

I was just talking about the random fan that Brando ran in to. The person may not even watch BB. May not care.
I'm just trying to figure out the connection between not knowing a BB coach and racism.
