Yes, we do need to expand to hold all the fans who would definitely show up if there were only more seats available inside the stadium. LSU has one of the largest fan bases in the nation, hands down!
STOP living on cloud nine.... It would only do good on winning season or if we played a No.1.... LSU barely fills up now...AND YOU WANT TO EXPANED?
Tiger stadium would look like shite with gaps all around....it already does for most games.
Baton Rouge and surounding areas cant be compared to Columbus Oh, and Knoxville

They probably wont expand until the fan base undergoes some changes.
110K would be filled only for a night game against a top 10 opponent. Other than that we cant even get 92K in there.

That's why you charge lower prices for those extra seats. There are alot of LSU fans who don't go to games b/c they can't afford it. If LSU expanded, charge $20 a ticket. Hell, $15 a ticket. You can't find tickets that low at a CFB game very often.
The problem lies with LSU, b/c i doubt they would charge that low of a price.

you can't get into any SEC game for less than $50.
Ticket prices are the only thing I know that go up and NEVER come down.

So what you are saying is that Columbus/Knoxvegas >>>>> New Orleans (much less BR+NOLA+Laffayette)
......Congratulations you are now a

Embarrassing how some of our fans spell.
it's REDiculous!!!!!!!!! (misspelling noted and definitely on purpose)

well maybe $35 per ticket and $45 for an SEC game, but have the tickets open to the general public would be a start.
It would bring back some of the noise that has disappeared from Tiger Stadium. Might bring some of the hardcore fans back that actually stay when the clock hits 00:00 instead of leaving at halftime or the 3rd quarter.

people could have got tickets for free or cheap to most of the games last year. the fans were embarrassing

very true. I think the only game where it was somewhat difficult for tickets was Alabama.
For the troy game I cant count the number of people that gave me tickets to give away and still couldnt get rid of them

What are you talking about ?? LSU barely fills up !!!?????????????
(1)
Oh yeah, it like, "barely" filled up for Alabama and Georgia last year, and for Va. Tech, Auburn, Florida, and Arkansas in '07. Those were packed SRO crowds !!!! On television!! Where were the "GAPS" for those games ????????
(2)
Since when does a televised game from Tiger Stadium have "gaps" in the stadium???? Um, NEVER. There may have been a few empty seats for the South Carolina game due to the weather.
Are there gaps for ULL, Tulane, La.Tech, North Texas, La.Tech, Middle Tenn, etc. ?
Yes !!!!!
Are those games shown on National or even Regional Television ???
No !!!!!!!!!
So who's going to see the fricking gaps ??????
You are wrong about Tiger Stadium "looking like sh-t for most games."
That is categorically incorrect.
In 2005, even after Katrina, Tiger Stadium was standing-room-only packed for: Tennessee,
Auburn, Florida, Arkansas, etc, and the same in 2007 for the above plus Va.Tech.
Those were ALL ON TV, and there were NO GAPS.
Tiger Stadium would seat 110,000 plus for SEC games and big OOC games like Va.Tech.
But who cares if only 85-95,000 show up for North Texas or Arky State....
THOSE GAMES AREN'T ON TELEVISION !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-Georgia, Arkansas, Auburn, and Florida in '03 ?
Dude....you proved HIS point....thats only 2-3 games a year
Nooooo. I didn't prove his point. All the games I listed were on TELEVISION. They were ALL packed SRO games with no empty seats, and no 'gaps.'
I also didn't list AAALLLLLLLLL the games that were sold out and/or on TV those years (Ole Miss, South Carolina, ULL, Tulane etc.)
And how exactly does: 4 games in '07, 4 games in '05, and 4 games in '03 translate to "only 2-3 games a year." ????????????

Why are we talking about this?

Unfortunately instead of T. Boone, we have T-Noon.

The stadium and grounds were perfect with around 80,000 people. No wanna be's at all.
Posted on 3/24/09 at 12:29 pm to TigerFreddy
Instead of spending millions to expand the stadium why don't we just used those millions to renovate the damn thing inside and out......hell, with the amount money it takes to build a new upper deck, I'm sure we could give it a much needed make over and make it one of the best looking in the country
Posted on 3/24/09 at 1:17 pm to Papa Steve
So are you saying that Alex Box is too big because it rarely, if ever, is filled to capacity?
Posted on 3/24/09 at 2:12 pm to spslayto
I didn’t want them to expand Tiger Stadium past 64,000 – you’ve got to keep the riff-raff out somehow.
