A Red Sox fan from Boston asked why the LSU-Red Sox connection. Any thoughts?

I might be wrong, but didn't Todd Walker play for the Red Sox in 2003 when they were in the playoffs? Boston didn't make it to the World Series that year, but it was cool to see LSU being represented.

I was at the Mets-Rangers game last weekend and saw some LSU fans there too.
I think there isn't so much of a connection between LSU and the Mets/Rangers as much as it is we just have LSU fans everywhere.

bunch of bandwagon douche bags who hopped on the Red Sox Nation bull shite back in 2004. can't go to a bar in Baton Rouge without some tool sporting a Red Sox hat. the majority of them I've met have never even been to Massachusetts.

guess it was cool a few years ago to show your hate of the Yankees by supporting Boston, but now the Red Sox have basically become the Yankees.

As a Lastro fan, I really felt bad for the team this past weekend. I went to the Friday and Saturday games and the Astros fans were definitely the minority. It's sickening when a team gets out-supported in their hometown.
