Feels ‘86/‘01 ish. Take care of business and we’re in. Now that there’s no east/west, it’s all about our SEC record. Win and we’re in. Period.

2 more SEC games.

Do y’all really consider being 3-1 when the team that beat you is 5-1 to be “tied for 1st”?

ETA: The official SEC standings on the website are ranked by win%. After today, UGA is .857, A&M is .833, and LSU is .750.

We are currently in 5th due to tie breakers and the fact that we've only played 4 SEC games. And because of that, we do need some help to get into the SEC Championship game. BUT, I do agree with you. If we win out, I think 3 of the 4 teams ahead of us get a loss. It's guaranteed that 2 will because of head to head matchups.

ETA: LostinBR is right, the SEC site has us in 3rd. NCAA has us at 5. I'll trust the SEC site. Here are the tie-breaker rules:

In the event of a tie between teams competing for a place in the Conference championship game, the following procedures will be used in descending order until the tie is broken:

- Head-to-head competition among the tied teams
- Record versus all common Conference opponents among the tied teams
- Record against highest (best) placed common Conference opponent in the Conference standings, and proceeding through the Conference standings among the tied teams
- Cumulative Conference winning percentage of all Conference opponents among the tied teams
- Capped relative total scoring margin versus all Conference opponents among the tied teams
- Random draw of the tied teams

I don’t think we can consider ourselves to be tied for first right now.

That said, we don’t really need help to get into the SECCG if we win out. Other teams would need help to get in above LSU.
