absolutely true...you get 3 points for the first hundred bucks and very little per hundred after that...

Yep, it's only prorated points until you hit $5,000 and you hit the next level of bonus points. I might would consider it if it were $1,000 as I'd just set it up to give about $100 a month. But $500? I could get another car for a payment like that.

Add two zeros to that $100 a year in addition to your TAF ticket money and you still won't move up much. My number is in the 1400 range.

What do you want to do that you can't do with a rank of 1400? Unless you're looking for more than 2 tickets to games, you're pretty much set.

There was a guy on the ticket exchange earlier this summer who said he gave $5K 2 years in a row, and went from over 7000, down to less than 2000. Of course, to maintain that ranking, you have to keep that donation level up over time.

I'm considering making a big splash donation for the future considering LSU gets roughly the same number of tickets to each bowl game. The cut off for more than 2 seems to be 750 which I don't have the means to make happen. But if I can get solidly close to 3000 or so I would be good for any bowl game and most road games.

I have a feeling if LSU goes on the road to A&M like expected, it will be a super tough ticket to get via LSU's allotment.

Just pointing out that $100 a year more, over his ticket donation, isn't going to help him move up much, if at all. If that is what he is trying to accomplish.

On the TAF site the ranking is real-time so any donations made since 10.31 are reflected and therefore you're ranking will be a bit off from what it would have been at the cut-off date.

OK, I'm at 4800 and change, so I missed out.

So, I have to pay scalpers. Where are LSU sections and also where will Bama sections be? For me, I want to avoid the latter and try to get in with my LSU brethren.

Side question, if LSU gets only 17,000 and I assume UA gets same amount, where do all the other seats go? Have they already been sold to first come first serve? I suspect that there won't necessarily be an LSU majority in the dome, and at most something like 60% or less. Just guessing based on the 2007 game where a ton of OSU fans made that trip and probably 40% was about right.

If it weren't for the next big bump weren't so high at $5,000 I'd be more inclined to give more than my typical $100 a year. But if one does give, if you give to a philanthropic program you get 2pts per $1000 instead of 1pt per $1000. It's pro-rate so if you give just $500 you get the corresponding fractions of a point.

Sugar Bowl Sponsors, local businesses, committee members & individuals who renew their tickets every year. LSU should have the inside tract to tickets owned by sponsors & businesses.

We expect 70%+ of the tickets to the BCS Louisiana Superdome to be LSU!

If you received tickets to the SEC Championship, check the e-mail they sent you, your ranking as of 10/31 will be on there.

That leaves 6160 given to people at 2 each putting the magic number at approx 3830 (3080 + 750).

Talk about cutting it close, I checked my ranking and I'm at 3,818.....hopefully these calculations are correct.

I got my ticket reserves through the Sugar Bowl website. When I requested some money to be refunded from my account, I got a check 10 days later (yesterday) that was written from the Sugar Bowl account. So, the Sugar Bowl itself is making a killing by selling some of the tickets as ticket reserves/firstdibz/fanforwards.

LOTS OF RANTERS put the next opponent's logo next to their name.

That doesn't make them less of a Tiger fan.

I'm as diehard as they come and I don't use the LSU logo.

I chose U. South Alabama where my sister in law went to RN/NP school.

I can also find my posts easier.

Doesn't mean I cheer for USA. Do they even have any sports teams?
