I’ve been going to games since 2000, I’ve only seen and participated in the throwing of the drinks when it was a touchdown in a huge moment or game winner.

The Ole Miss student section throws drinks on the field when LSU scores a TD

We did it in the 80’s routinely

Somebody got injured by a bottle or cup of ice around 2000 and they really started cracking down on it, and kicking people out of the game if they got caught. Then you’d have to meet with the Dean and get put on academic probation.
Don’t ask me how I know..

Does the student section still throw their drinks up in the air when LSU scores a TD? Back in the early 2000s this happened all the time, it looked awesome. Did not remember seeing this recently.
Saw the Bills fan throwing snow after TD and it reminded me of the good old days.
Huh , What a Waste of Beer...Snow is Free , No comparison

frick this tradition. I caught a fully loaded cup in the head when Russel Shepard scored a long TD back in the day. Cut my head up and probably gave me a concussion.

Everyone got soaked with thrown drinks after the Skyler Green TD vs Georgia in 2003.
