On paper we finally have real depth and player upfront. I just hope we get some resemblance of the Lsu defense! The last 4 years makes my stomach hurt watching us try and play defense. Horrible to watch

Im not worried about the offense we need a D

Afraid it will be close at half, BK won't adjust, Dabo will and Clemson pulls away in second half. Hope not but history has a way of...............

But.. we lost every opener for last 5 years

Clemson is like 2/5 in openers during that time.

Media is pumping Clemson but if you look at last years team, they weren't that impressive. They were very similar to LSU. They just had an easy schedule.

"Clemson's DL is ELITE!" They had 35 sacks last year, LSU had 34. They were terrible vs the Run. We need to run the ball. UGA put up 170+ yards. UGA was 2nd to last in rushing.

Hey-it's game one-the season is not won or lost on this one. Notre Dame lost it's 2nd game to a virtual nobody last year and ended up in the NC.....

True. And I'd much rather be the underdog in the Media's eyes in this game. Pump Clemson all you want.

After 5 years of hype and dropping the opener to teams we should have beat handily I'm not feeling so good about this one.

Exactly. I'm cautiously optimistic.

Both teams opener. Both will feel the pressure and have the jitters. Which one will execute? I'm hopeful LSU wins this one.

ND's schedule following that loss was:

@ Purdue
Miami (OH)
Louisville
Stanford
Georgia Tech (neutral stadium)
Navy (neutral site)
Florida State
Virginia
Army (neutral site)
@ USC

The only team of that group that finished the season in the top 25 was Army.

LSU doesn't have the luxury of an easy schedule. Given last season 15 of 16 SEC teams had at least 2 conf. losses and three SEC teams with 3 losses all got left out of the CFP, I'd say the odds suggest an 0-1 start for LSU would set up a tough road ahead for a CFP birth.
