Miles is head and shoulders a better coach than Patterson.

Coach P has ALWAYS been insanely conservative and practices the "win by 1" mentality that he preaches. Thought our D played fairly well, just gave up a couple too many big plays. That huge kick return of y'alls was a dagger.

Our OC play calling was abysmal. So bland and predictable. That was definitely the most frustrating part of the game for me.

I was ashamed of the 4th and 2 punt. Seemed that Coach P decided to give up in favor of attempting to keep the score more respectable as opposed to fighting to get back into it. Frustrating as hell.

All that said, he's the perfect fit for this job, a coach w/ a permanent chip on his should coaching the "Little Engine That Could".

I think TCU has less talent from top to bottom and did what they had to do to stay in the game.Stay close and give your team a chance.Well played by them and they showed class at the end.

Yep White had blown coverage twice and got simply out ran several times. Mett made TCU pay for it. Those throws, the first end around, and two of the outside runs by LSU were big. The KO return late was certainly the dagger though.

Meh, TCU was moving the ball fairly effectively with passes off the mark or dropped by receivers stalling drives.

The late utilization of Boykin, the single third and long substitution of Pachall, and the 4th and 2 punt were all very frustrating.

Yes and he has repeatedly shown that he cares about the players as young men and not just football weapons. I think the respect he earns through that, and the defenses he fields make him a very good recruiter. I really hate what has happened with this game and the media. Gary and Miles are both stand up guys.

His run defense impressed me. Granted they stacked the box all night, but they played with impressive discipline and seemed to always be where they were supposed to be.

Exactly what I said to my friends when he did that. I was actually thankful he punted because I am pretty damn sure they would have gotten a first down if they went for it. We would have roasted Les if he had done it....

5 DBs on the field for DBU would be kind of awesome if it came to that

TCU was the most talented team in the mac. Still in the top half of the big 12 in talent. They really have no excuses. Start beating some of the other texas schools, start getting closer to LSU in talent. 7-6 in the big 12 isnt going to cut it. We know they can beat wyoming on a regular basis.

I still think he is a very good coach, but wouldnt trade Miles for him. Hes not leaving TCU and Miles isnt leaving LSU, so it doesnt really matter.

Patterson played conservative, sweated like a pig(similar to miles clap). the team racked up 9 penalties and it should have been double digits. the offense didnt help out too much. He has had major off the field issues with players. Made him self look like a fool in front of the media. Pretty much sums up what people bash miles for. Yet they want patterson over him.

Considering Miles' winning % and the list of coaches he's beaten head to head, it's strange that LSU fans continue to expect Les to be outcoached.

It happens to every coach occasionally, but hasn't happened to Miles an inordinate amount of times.

Miles has even outcoached the beloved Saban.

somewhat debatable given the field position. The bigger mistake was throwing on 2nd-2 and 3rd-2 when you had been gaining yardage all night on the zone read. The other head-scratcher was letting the clock get down to 1:30 something before calling a timeout.

Miles is finally acting like a head coach for first time since 2007! He appears to have a offensive coord. he trust, and Chavis for the D! Acting like a CEO instead of control freak!!Hope it continues!

Intense coach, not sure if his personality can handle a high profile program. I can always gauge Miles' feelings towards a coach after he walks away after the mid field hand shake. Coach has this intense look and reaches for his cap after handshakes and game interviews. I'd give Patterson a 3 out of 5 stars on Les' respect for him. Les did not do a full cap reset, it was just kind of a start to and then walk away.

I honestly thought (Patterson) he made a great adjustment in the 2nd half. However, I also think he had no clue how well we were going to throw the ball either.

It's a wash. Miles and Patterson coached well, and personally, I think Miles did the better job.

What else is new? Miles usually does.

I have known Gary Patterson and Dick Bumpus (DC) at TCU for 25 years. Bumpus runs the defense. He is as solid as a rock.

Patterson has progress to elite status among coaches and has turned that program around big time.

TCU could beat any SEC team except LSU and Alabama. They are that good.

TCU very well coached. Patterson does it all. He ail never leave Fort Worth except to go to K-State, his Alma Mater....

i disagree. Everything in Miles' 8 year coaching history at LSU suggests that we would run the ball up the middle 3 times and punt. Gary Patterson made a decent call based on what he knew about Les Miles. Les Miles completely acted out of character by letting us throw the ball on 3rd and 5.

he lost the game punting on 4th and 2.

He was thinking LSU would only run up the middle but we have Cam now and Miles knows his defense isn't that good yet and I really believe the loss to bama and not going for the TD on the last drive weighs heavy on him. He is learning its better to score more points
