How does Coach O not have a job yet? I would have to think something is going on with him and LSU. Is Ensminger still going to an admin position or is that squashed? I could see someone like O as ST coach but giving him responsibilities to help Haley on the dline too. Since the rumors are Haley is trying to leave to the NFL then O would slide over to dline coach when Haley leaves. I personally want to keep our nasty ST coverage but it can't be that hard to coach up. It's one of the lowest positions on a staff and starting point for a lot of coaches like TE.

It's entirely possible they could upgrade Henry's job to TE/WR coach too and pay him more. Slide Ensminger to admin, find a spot for Coach O, then hire either a TE/ST/QB/LB coach for the next position.

Coach Arnsparger thought it was a most important position for a coach. He believed that ST play often made the difference in games. The pros believe that, too. There is much more to it that meets the eye. Handling the kickers is a big part....they are all head cases. Takes a certain kind of motivator to do the job. Coach Mac used starters on some of his STs. Believed that the team that blocked a kick or punt...would win the game. We have some coaches out there from LSU who Bill trained.

It's going to be someone with previous special teams experience.

Hence why he should go after Ron Zook. He's one hell of a recruiter and has NFL ST coaching experience. Wanna say he's currently working for CBS.

I certainly hope not. Could only imagine the negative recruiting that would happen.

Look up.

He's in the running. Currently working in Houston and is out of football.

As much as I believe in giving people a second chance, I hope that's not true. Now if Haywood went somewhere else first and resuscitated his career, then yes.
