Think about it, lights out defense, brutal schedule against highly rated teams etc. this could be the year

Ehhhh. 2011 we just steamrolled teams with our o line and running game. The 11 defense was just unfair

2011 every game besides bama ended up being a blow out. I like this team but let’s hold off on the 2011 comparisons.

This is not even comparable.
LSU skull fricked every team on the schedule except Bama which they squeezed a win out at their house. I don't even think a team on the schedule came within 17 points of beating LSU all season. LSU had one of the most efficient offenses in the SEC until they benched Lee and they had a ton of 1st round talent on defense. The line itself had multiple 1st, a 2nd and a guy who would've been a 1st had he not smoked weed before the combine.
That team was dominant and probably would've went down as one of the better college teams of all time had they not shite the bed against Bama in the NC game. No, this team has a loooong way to go to be compared to that 2011 season.

They also had a hard schedule similar to this season only they opened the season against Oregon and destroyed them. Oregon ended up a top 5 team by the end of the season and probably didn't get NC recognition due to their loss to LSU.

Because of defense and special teams. Offense was adequate but nothing spectacular.
31 turnovers with 9 touchdowns on defense and special teams alone will beef up the stats.
