The only stains you know about are the ones in your shorts.

Are you personally embarrassed because the basketball team didn't win as many games as you wanted it to win? Why should you be embarrassed? Is someone shaming you?

Many of you people place way too much importance in sports.

Many of you act as though your own self-worth is tied to the success of an LSU team. It's a pity.

So essentially you let the NCAA strong arm you into firing a coach that they couldn’t prove did anything, by taking the evidence in the Fuenes and the Title IX stuff and holding it over your head.
They couldn’t get Wade so they made you do it

Are you under the assumption the ncaa has to prove anything? They are the governing body of college sports.
They are the judge, jury , and executioner. It sucks but it's true.

It’s somewhat of a stain on Scott, but I don’t think he even cares about MBB. The job he’s done with FB and baseball vs MBB hires proves as much.

In WBB he was lucky bc Mulkey wanted to come home.

It’s not real good if your AD doesn’t care about the 2nd highest revenue generating sport

Maybe he’s banking on baseball to make up the difference, and he might actually be right at a place like LSU.

Personally I don’t think he should’ve fired Wade if he couldn’t get at least as good a replacement.

It could be that he didn’t want to fire Wade and was forced to by Tate, in which case I can see him hiring MM and waiting to tell the prez “told you what would happen, now let me make the athletic hiring/firing decisions.”

Interesting thread. I wonder why nobody thought of any of this before.

If we win a national title in football with Kelly it won’t and baseball would just be gravy. We aren’t and never will be a basketball school. If football is in elite tier, that will be his legacy

No but Will Wade won the SEC in year 2, are you willing to say CMM will even sniff that kind of success next year.,Don’t think so. I WAS all behind CMM even though I wanted WW to stay or at least fight for the man. On the other hand McBland has shown not an inkling of hope for next year. The admin has written off basketball for the immediate future and the long term doesn’t look too promising either. I love football first like most but I love basketball also and it’s a freaking shame. Oh the Humanity, we are the Vanderbilt of the hardwood. We are a brand we are LSU, if it was so easy as paying players illegally for Wade, well it should be as easy legally for Matt. WW didn’t just pay players he talked the talk, they loved Wade.

I don't think LSU has a great basketball fanbase
When they play pre conference games its pretty sparse
When I watch other schools its packed

The F'n. Admin won't leave a winner Coach in place long enough to build a fan tradition.
Brown Built. The Admin sat on their hands too long until he let it fall a part.
Brady came and rebuilt it. The nega tigers went berserk one year after a final four, when there were injuries on the team. The Admin fired Brady, brought in Johnson. Johnson took advantage of the Brady players who were again healthy, and won an SEC Championship. Brady's recruits left and Johnson hit rock bottom.
It staid down until Wade was hired. He made us relevant again.
Then Admin destroyed it all once more.
And you wonder why there is no fan base for basketball?
Who wants to come watch the Tigers get humiliated time after time.
The Admin doesn't care.

Why would multiple sports have gone on probation? Do you have any reliable information to form that opinion? I see this spouted a lot with absolutely no verifiable source other than tiger droppings.

Personally ive heard the opposite and it was strictly due to Woodward disliking Wade and using the national media stories to run him out.

It took buzz Williams at texas A&M until this year to get the program right and he inherited a much lesser train wreck than the dumpster fire McMahon inherited give him a couple of years and we will be back
