Lane is being threatened with punishment for something he was thinking about doing.

Skip liked to tell the story about how he got kicked out of a game one time.
He asked the umpire if he could get kicked out because of something he was thinking about The ump said “No, you have to do something bad. You don’t get kicked out for something you are thinking”.
Skip replied “Good because I think you are an a-hole “.
The ump pointed to the exit.
