We fired Coach O. This is taking the same path. Back to an average team.

Ok, who do you suggest we hire to replace Jay Johnson?

Johnson has won everywhere he has been. He also took Arizona to the CWS twice in a short period of time. Won it all at LSU in year 2 and you compare him to O?

He should get a pass for one down season, but I guess that’s just me.

Still waiting on your suggestions of candidates to replace Jay Johnson, since you brought up the fact that Orgeron was fired.

Keep in mind, the candidate pool will be limited. Top candidates will have concerns about job security, and that will be a legitimate question, given that you are proposing we fire a coach less than a calendar year after winning the CWS. Jay is well respected in coaching circles, and that could play in to top candidates turning down this job.

So are you going to reply, or just bitch and start dumbass threads, like a bitch?

The misconception was that we thought we were different than the last two winners. The SEC is too tough to repeat.

Let's see what happens next season. If they're in the top 3 of the west, with a chance to host, I'm gonna be ok. If they're down like this, I'm done.

I was never expecting a repeat, but I don’t think fielding a competitive team is asking too much, do you?

He was at Arizona for six years. He went to the CWS finals his first year with the previous coach's players. The next year (2017) they went to the Lubbock Regional, where they went 0-2, with both losses to Sam Houston State. Then in 2018 and 2019 they didn't even make a regional, and likely wouldn't have in 2020 had COVID not happened. They did make it back to Omaha in 2021, but were done relatively quickly.

This won't cut it in Baton Rouge. If LSU has two straight seasons with no regional appearance, Johnson will be fired.
