With JJ and Lee?

Harris and Jennings never truly had a QB battle with Jennings being the guy Spring 2014 and 15. It wasn't until Jennings arrest in summer 15 that Harris got it.

Mettenberger had it locked up in Spring of 12 and 13...

This will be the first QB battle in a long time between TWO GREAT Quarterbacks. Be very fun to watch the Spring game

I don't think it's much of a battle at all. I think the job is Brennan's to lose.

Man doing everything you can this week to promote division and pump up anxiety about the QB position huh? I must say this thread is much classier than that bullshite "pick your favorite between Brennan/Narcisse" thread.

There won't be a true battle. Brennan is the guy

I wouldn't sleep on Lowell. Kid has got "it" IMHO. A real gamer and a coach's dream on the field and in the locker room. The kid eat, sleeps and drinks football.

high football IQ, scrappy, gamer, gym rat, outstanding intangibles, cerebral, coach on the field, great motor, brings his lunch pail to practice every day.

I am cautiously optimistic..because O said Etling was our best QB last year and we all saw how average he was...so hopefully these 2 have improved by leaps and bounds since the season ended...

...

I really freaking hope so. There is NO downside to TRUE competition in the Spring & Summer. NONE.

There is a downside for NOT having a competition however. It's the same as why some coaches wait until the last minute to name a starter.

Everyone that I trust says it is wide open, and for once, it's not because 1 guy sucks. Both are impressive.

He hasn’t even played a snap. No one really knows what he has. I hope you’re right but we don’t even know if the kid can stay healthy. His knees have shown they have a tendency to explode and that’s about all we know absolutely it him at this point.

Why y’all keep saying Lowell has “it”, not saying he doesn’t but the kid hadn’t thrown the ball in anything significant in over 2 years....

Some people just don’t understand that when you run circles around teams in the river parish, you have “it.”

I want whichever guy looks the best to start. I have no favorite

That said I would have to say tie goes to Brennan. Simply based on higher level experience

But nothing would make me happier then both of them being good because frankly we have nothing behind them. It would be nice if a minor QB injury wasn't catastrophic for the team

Guys, guys, guys... listen unless you have been to the elite 11 in CA and again to the Nike Finals in Oregon and have been to multiple practices to see these two guys compete side by side it is hard for you to make an educated comment. I have seen them side by side and I am here to tell you the there is no comparison. If the head coach wants a dual-threat run-heavy quarterback that can throw the ball a mile then Lowell is your guy. If the head coach and offensive coordinator wants a pass-heavy offense utilizing the highly talented receivers that we have just recruited then Brennan is your quarterback. It is just that simple. It all has to do with the system and the quarterback that fits it best. Both Lowell and Myles are incredibly talented in their own right. As soon as this coaching staff picks a system that they want to go with we will know who the starting quarterback will be.
