Haven't you been a Miles first, LSU second idiot the whole time? What was the final straw? And don't you feel pretty dumb that it took you years to see what others saw and tried to tell you for years?

I'm not suggesting that Miles is perfect. Far from it, but his oddball ways have been awfully effective. I've never met the guy, so I don't know if it's personal charisma or what, but looking across the CFB ranks, he's got something lacking in the vast majority of football coaches. He's run a clean program we can be proud of and won while he's done it. You can't say that about everyone else.

So in your mind it is never OK to make a coaching change?

The coach is NOT part of the team. He is the coach and the current one has failed this year. No other way to out it.

Lost 1 game, still real possibilities for division, conference championships and a playoff birth. And the team comes out the next two weeks flat, unprepared and undisciplined.

I like Miles a lot more than a lot of other people here, but what we've witnessed the last two weeks screams that it is time for a change.

This doesn't have anything to do with it, to be honest. Its about a slow steady decline in the He makes coaching changes but the product on the field doesn't change.

Les Miles is a class act no one is denying this, but he isn't bigger than the program so stop that shite right now.

Mr. Savannah.....you do make some good points.....but this is beyond about overall record...LSU is losing ground in the SEC West....and it is a whole lot more than just not beating Alabama.....Our West record has been slipping....and look how bad we have been beaten...Hope we do not do a Texas and wait too long like they did for Mack Brown. No hate for Coach Miles here...only respect...I am sure in his heart...he is feeling some of this as well.

I'm not suggesting that CLM remain head coach in perpetuity. We have a contract with him that out to be honored though. Integrity matters.

I'm mostly bothered by all the Miles haters posing as fans when they're obviously just groupies that follow any winning program. They're angry because Miles wins enough to keep them lap dancing for him and not losing enough to justify their moving on to someone else...

I protest. If I buy tickets, pay for parking, spend money on hotels, gas, flights, plus LSU merchandise, am I not invested?

OP,

You act like Les Miles built the program and is the reason LSU is a nationally respected brand. Les has gained as much from LSU as LSU has gained from Les.

LSU football is MUCH bigger than Les and his mostly positive influence.

It's like an arms race, and LSU has been losing ground in the SEC west since January of 2012. Les is in charge, and is therefore responsible for demonstrating progress or at the least the maintenance of status. He's not trending in the right direction and it's been 4 seasons. It may not be entirely his fault, but when you are in charge and you make the big bucks, nobody listens to excuses.

You're pretty fricking stupid to see that the head coach has led to decline. Keep on supporting him with your blind loyalty....and I stress the word blind.

I keep seeing post this crap. 2 weeks? Where have you guys been for years? We have been trying to tell you that Miles has cost LSU championships but because people are so damn scared of the 90's, they figure it's best to stick with a guy who can get 10 wins.

It's not the 90's anymore. LSU is a powerhouse program with insane in-state talent. I keep posting this in other threads and I'll post it here:
2006, 2007, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015(?) and they have one championship. One. The most players in the NFL. What doesn't register for you guys? Did we all not watch the same games?

Look I'm not disagreeing with you. I'm just talking about THIS year. Going from #2 in the country to the nations laughing stock.

The last 2 weeks have been a microcosm of Miles' entire tenure here. That's why he needs to go.

If it was just this year, then sure give home more time. But it has been much more than this year.
