This is not a "freebie" or "meaningless game" in BCS outlook

My biggest pet peeve is when LSU fans say that this game is essentially a "freebie" for us and that a loss wouldn't be painful to our season outlook.

Couldn't be more wrong - a win versus UF is huge because it keeps pushing that rock down the field and makes it to where we can suffer our loss versus an Alabama or Ole Miss and still be playing for the MNC game by beating Florida again in Atlanta.

If we LOSE to UF this week we have no room for error. If we BEAT UF this week we still have room for error.

This is a HUGE game. Biggest of the year so far. People are over-analyzing things. If we get through our schedule with only 1 loss we will be playing for the BCS title in January.

Who is calling this a freebie? And how do we get to the SEC championship game with a loss to ole miss or alabama?

People are saying it is for Florida, and they're right.

I think you're taking that as people saying it's a freebie for LSU, too. Well they aren't.

Lose to UF and win out, then LSU has 1st tie break over West teams (head to head)

Beat UF and then lose to Bama....Bama has to lose 2 games for LSU to win West

True but we can lose to Ole Miss, Auburn, Arky and still make it. We can still lose to Bama and still make it with help.

Maybe I'm overreacting but I definitely heard some LSU fans slagging off this game earlier this week.

Unless bama loses, then they go. If we lose to any West team, then THAT team has to lose 2

Every West teams will probably lose 2 (except for Bama)

Then they go to the SEC CG. If LSU loses to UF and beats BAMA...LSU goes.

Anyway, I'm predicting the LSU win, so its moot to me.

This is the ONLY game remaining on the schedule that LSU can LOSE, and still control their own destiny.

THIS IS THE DEFINITION OF A FREEBIE.

Alejandro, you FAIL, sir.

While it would be great to win, if LSU lost, they could win out....Beat Florida in the rematch (they will be in the SECCG), and play for a National title. They will have avenged their only loss, and will have gone through a murderous schedule.

You guys should get this BCS thing by now.

Wow, I know it's been said here already, but this is galactically wrong.

If we lose to Alabama, we aren't going to Atlanta.
