Yet another person who wants people to act like they are enjoying something they aren't actually enjoying, simply b/c some stat says it should be enjoyable.

In their proper perspective, sport should be something we watch b/c we enjoy watching it.
Being a fan of a team doesn't mean you are morally compelled to act like things are rosy if when you are actually watching the team play there are obvious problems that make it hard to enjoy watching the team play.

Don't try to be obtuse about the point of the post.

Was the entire game enjoyable - no
Were 2/3 of the team enjoyable - hell yes
Were we all happy at seeing RR and RS and TT in there - yes
Was the RB game good - yes

The offense sucked - true but that shouldn't prevent you from enjoying the other parts of the game.

Same as in life/work/play - you will miss out on the good/happy parts if you keep harping on the bad ones alone.

Does this mean we shouldn't / can't improve - of course not. We should always strive to improve and be the best that we can but don't lose track that you lose enjoyment when you concentrate only on the misery all the time.

Finally, as fans, we have zero control over any aspect of the game and being miserable over one part of the game just makes us even more depressed.

well then you're an idiot. the "starter" threw for 101 yards a game with 2 TDs and 4 INTs. im optimistic that literally anyone on the team could have matched those lofty numbers.

LOVE people calling others "idiots" and just blindly THINKING there opinion HAS to be correct.

How'd the backup do against LaTech last year?

The fact that you are 100% certain that Lee would do better and think anyone who says otherwise is an "idiot" really says a lot about your football knowledge, or lack thereof.

Celebrate now all you want. Will you be around to say you are wrong when things start to go bad??

Uhh, this really makes no sense if you read ANY of Matt's posts in this thread.

Simply celebrating being ranked in the top 10 and undefeated has absolutely nothing to do with how we will finish the season.

So, if and when things do go bad, what would Matt have to admit he was wrong about?

Saying that we should be fine and dandy since we are 4-0, regardless of the flaws, is like waving and taking pictures of a guy as he swims out to sea in a hurricane. Everything tells you that he will drown, but you keep on waving and smiling as long as he keeps his head above the water. Once he drowns, you forget about it and watch the next guy do it. (Like 2008, and 2009, and now 2010).

frick that. Get a damn life jacket and go save the guy, because once he drowns, it is to damn late.

The attitude that we should not worry about a loss until we actually lose is the logical equivalent of the guy drowning, and it is completely fricking stupid.

This logic is horribly flawed.

Ohio St's offense in 2002 looked like it had drowned 4 times, and how'd they end up that season?

With a BCS title.

Be concerned, but enjoying being undefeated. Why act like we have 4 losses before we have 1 loss? It is pointless.

Krenzel threw for 2110 yards that year, 12td's, 7int's, and had a RB named Maurice Clarett.

JJ is on pace for 1260 yds, 6td's, 9int's, and does not have Maurice Clarett.

Good luck with that

because the fanbase had expectations raised when Saban was here.

You play in the biggest, baddest conference in the country, and you don't want to look like an embarassment.

It is a game with 3 parts - O,D and ST.

No one would be complaining about this much embarrassment had the weak point been the ST and if they kept giving the ball at the 50 yard line or allowed a couple of KO or Punt returns.

Were the D weak and allowing multiple TDs each quarter and not getting any turnovers - there wouldn't be this much rumbling.

We have poor playcalling on the O and bad QB play (because of multiple reasons).

We have won in spite of all this - YET everyone concentrates only on the last portion - and the obvious reason is O is flashy and what fills the seats and improves the rankings and media perceptions (and unfortunately the fan's perceptions as well).

I know the immediate retort would be we are angry with the coaches for the stubborn behavior regarding the O but for fricks sakes why are you not talking 2/3 of the time about the coaches having presented an awesome D and ST!

In fact frick thanking the coaches - just talk about the Awesome D and ST at least 40% of the time. Talk about Graf who is a monster on ST , talk about the other STs who clear the way for PP, talk about Baker who came back from an injury and is playing lights out!

It is an insult to the team that we are letting some issues cloud our minds completely to the point that we are spending more time on picking on one player than thanking and admiring the entire squad.

In 3 of there wins, they scored 14, 13, and 10 points(Only 3 points til the final minute of the game)

And in no way am I saying that Jefferson has been anything other than really crappy, but I bet he finishes this season closer to a +5 than a -3 in TD:INT ratio. If he doesn't get benched, that is.

What has LSU football come to that we can't enjoy an undefeated team and a top 10 ranking? Is LSU football really only going to be fun for us for the rest of our lives if we win 11 games a year AND dominate in those games?

We are looking for reasons to believe that our coach can make good decisions about the most important position on the field, and he is failing us. We also began the last 2 years 3-0 and last year 4-0, so the 4-0 does not have as much traction as it would if you looked solely at that. The computer rankings will not help if we lose 3 out of 4 of the Big 4 games this season, and playing in the Peach or Cotton Bowl all because our Coach's ego or brain will not allow a good decision is just too prominent to ignore as you suggest.

The sentiments are very justified.

80yds a game passing at any D-1 school will cost you games and is ridiculous. Those are high school numbers. That's enough to call the water boy in for a try out.

Unfortunately a large percentage of fans let their emotions drive their actions. With LSU it is more so due to the Saban factor. Any time any coach follows a successful coach he cannot ever measure up to a percentage of fans. So there we have it. Anytime any of our teams are not perfect the NegaTigers let their uncontrolled emotions spill over.

I love where our team is right now. They are positioned for a great title run. Will they win it all? Who knows? If they do it will go down as one of the more dramatic seasons ever.

Example: Go read the Bama Boards during the Arkansas game. Their own emotional NegaTideFans were up in arms when McElroy was throwing his 2 interceptions. It happens everywhere. Just a little more complicated at LSU.

I think Brother Martin throws for more than this . . . on accident.
