Dude: I’m happy for you but really? So I can assume you haven’t benefitted from 21st century health care and science? Why not thank your doctors for your good health?
I had to have a hip replacement and on my follow up I gave the doctor, who did a great job and painless for me, all the praise I could. He in turn gave all the praise and glory to God Almighty. I hope you can come to a point in your spiritual life that you can do the same.

Prayers for your pastor friend, Munch.
John Wooden is credited with the quote, “Sports do not build character, they reveal it.”
Well, it is my experience that “Cancer does not build faith, it reveals it.”
I got to live that when my Princess Bride was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer in February, 2016. She transitioned to Heaven on May 22, 2017.
From the moment of the diagnosis, my Princess made it clear that she had no fear of dying. She looked forward to eternity in Heaven. She was not, however, in any rush to leave me and our two boys behind though.
Cancer truly sucks, but cancer also allows people with “real” faith to show us exactly what it looks like. It allows us to see what is really most important in this brief period that we call “life”.
I just found out yesterday that my 55 year old baby sister, who is a 7 year survivor of colorectal cancer, is having a Pet Scan tomorrow to determine if two “spots” that showed up on her liver in the latest routine scan are metastatic cancer or benign lesions.
I do not know what is ahead for my baby sis in this life, but I certainly know what is ahead in the next, and that makes it easier to walk through each day no matter what the Pet Scan shows.
Faith is Freedom from Fear (including fear of death).

(My doctors 3 1/2 years ago gave me 2-3 years to live when they told me I had terminal cancer. Mine is in my bone blood plasma and just to keep it simple it weakened my bones
so bad that they just started to break. I have 8 compact fractures in my spine, and broke 12 ribs. This pain on top of the cancer, when chemo is added is beyond any pain I have ever experienced and pain killers don't do much. I have a hard time getting around and have to get help with just about anything I do, sometimes sitting in this pain makes you think about quitting and just putting and end to it, but prayer and faith in God keep me going. So sure doctors and medicine are a big part, but without God it wouldn't matter. Even my doctor thinks praying and having faith is more important.
OP great job, very happy for you and will add you to my prayer list.)
My mother went through the same thing(different type of cancer). After 5 years of fighting cancer and the chemo she made the decision to stop fighting she stopped all treatments and passed away not long after. It was hard on her and the family when she made that choice. With that being said LSU40 keep up the faith and god bless.
To the pastor good luck and god bless.

Thanks for sharing and thank you Jesus for your healing power

That is awesome news but why no shot out to the doctors and medical professionals? Surely they played a vital role in this too, no?

I am truly sorry to hear that. Some people don’t know about the side effects and pain people can be dealing with. My friends coworkers wife has exactly the same cancer as I do, she quit all treatments and she is in her 30’s.
Thanks for the kind words and sharing your story with us, God Bless.

If they were believers He took them home with Him.

Why does it bother some so that others believe?

It does not bother me but I find it in poor taste to thank Jesus for saving one person when plenty of others have succumb to the same disease.
It is also highly insulting to not thank the doctors and other medical professionals who had a direct impact in the treatment.
I have never comprehended the rush to praise God for the good stuff but never blame God for the bad.
Perhaps it is because it's just the way life goes and there is no big man in the clouds running the show.

Friend, should cancer ever find you or someone you love, do yourself a favor. Fall on your knees and ask the Lord to help you. It couldn’t hurt, could it?

Why in the world did six people downvote this post? Ridiculous.

I remember a World Trade Center survivor from 9-11 said god saved him. I just shook my head, because apparently he was oblivious that thousands of others died a horrific, terror-filled, death, but god apparently didn't feel the need to save any of them.
Again, he just needed to believe something, no matter how silly or illogical it was.

Great to hear. Congrats from a fellow survivor!

Maybe he was the only one who prayed.
