this is my first negative post this year so get ready for your condenscending "slam".

throwing strikes is an issue! and it continues to be. no team, I mean NO TEAM walks batters like LSU. and even those that don't get walked many, many go deep in the count. an 0-2 count is almost the kiss of death.

we have issues on defense. Peterson lost that first game today but his missing that double play was the killer. he got what he wanted; a shot back to the mound for an easy DP and he fricked it up. our defense has made some real shitty plays this year.

our hitting. what can I say, our approach at the plate gives the opposing pitchers a lot of outs and keeps their pitch count down. it seems that only Reid, Hughs and DuPlantis (sp) even try to work the count.

i'm disappointed that this team is just not who I thought they were. I know they will improve but i'm just not sure they can improve enough.

that's my rant. I will now continue to sip my Irish whiskey.

Question is how are they going to fix these issues?

I'm a casual follower of LSU baseball, but every year I read the posts about CPM not being worth a damn and how bad he is, yet every year we're ,usually deep into the college tournament. What gives?

My friend, say it ain't so! If YOU are getting worried and making negative posts then we are looking at having anarchy around here. I'm talking forty years of darkness, earthquakes, volcanoes, the dead rising from the grave, human sacrifice and dogs and cats living together here.

yes, that IS the question. at least we saw PM do SOMETHING yesterday (could have been Friday) when he yanked Fontenot after he walked a guy. it seems like our coach has just been watching our guys walk the shite of batters without acting. maybe he should start holding these guys more accountable. yank 'em. relief pitchers are not called in to walk guys.

frick if I know how to fix our shitty hitting.

At least guys like Beloso, Reid, and Mathis are showing they are capable at the plate. The second baseman and DH spots need to start performing.

Please please please I want someone on this board to point to one of CPM’s teams at LSU that wasn’t better in May than they were in March. Please people just be patient.

I’ll give him a pass on 2007...first year, rebuilding.

2010 - started 32-6, finished 41-22

2011 - pretty bad most of the year, finished 36-20

Last year was no great shakes.

No doubt your are correct about that. However, there are some very glaring things that won't be fixed like no lefthanded pitchers, a catcher who cannot throw out anyone(SEC speed wise)The opposing pitching will get much much better soon. The 2017 team had similar problems but improved drastically. CPM and Dunn have to solve the throwing strike issue but you can't do it by pressuring pitchers. You throw strikes with confidence and Dunn and CPM have to coach this up.
