EXCEPT that she is NOT a 3rd party witness.

Why not? Your opinion or that of the police?

Not a big fan of the freedom of information act and other "sunshine state laws," eh?

Little Ms. Long put herself out in the public domain. Being a witness in a criminal investigation carries certain burdens. You know that your credibility is going to be questioned, in court and in the court of public opinion.

Her testimony has the potential to destroy Jordan Jefferson and the other players lives. We need to throughly evaluate her credibility as a witness for the State of LA.

no, far as we know she did her civil duty and is cooperating with the investigation.

this should be reserved for the courts, not dipshits on a message board.

we? this is not OUR job. Unless you are the investigator or one of the attorneys involved, it isn't your job to "evaluate her credibility". do the rest of us a favor and unplug your keyboard.

I agree that her credibility will be and should be tested...within the confines of the established legal system. It is for the defense attorneys to unearth any evidence that casts doubt on her credibility. And more importantly, it is for the judge to decide which of that evidence is relevant and admissible. As we both know, much of the salacious personal dirt, gossip, and rumor disintered by Rant posters thus far wouldn't even be admissible at a real jury tial. Much of it is hearsay or proscribed character evidence.

In any event, testing credibility with relevant, probative, reliable evidence in court is one thing. It is quite another when a bunch of panting, ravenous jock-sniffers on the internet attempt some character assassination based on their assessment of Facebook photos. I just think it's creepy. That's just me. Have at it if you want to.

I'm not trying to start a flame war here.

What is your problem - you want to attack a witness because it's a problem for the LSU QB? I can only imagine the mutants that will come out of the cracks to try to destroy the woman's credibility.

If this is proven correct and her testimony collaborated, Jefferson should be dismissed from the team - end of story.

AMEN +1000 some people would kill their own grandmother or give their soul to Satan for a National Championship. Grow the frick up people. lives are more important than LSU football. immature hacks.

Do you know what a jury is? How about a grand jury? Juries are comprised of WE the citizens.

Criminal proceedings are initiated for the good of the community and the public in general.

So yes, it is our job to question the credibility of witnesses in high profile criminal proceedings. We as members of the parish have a stake in seeing that this investigation is conducted in a fair manner.

I will not apologize for not wanting to see a fellow LSU alumni railroaded on the accusations of suspect witnesses, who by all accounts are friends of the complainants

when you are chosen to be on that jury, then you have a point. But it is not the job of the general public to determine whether she is credible or not.

good to know. What other investigations are you currently acting as a watchdog for the parish?

I wish you could take the purple and gold blinders off for 2 seconds to realize how ridiculous you sound. I don't want to see JJ or anyone else railroaded here either. But you pretending to be doing this as a public service is embarrassing to rest of the fans.

If she knows the victim then the title of this thread and report released by the BRPD is disingenious and should be called out.

What does that say about our players who are around the same age and hanging around a bar? What's good for the goose....

Oh get off your high horse. A jury is comprised of average citizens yes, thank you for enlightening us with that oh so keen insight into the basic workings of the legal system.

Do you apply this same vigilance to any criminal matter that doesn't involve LSU football? I doubt it, and unless you do, your statement is a wee bit hypocritical.

Don't get me wrong, if she's lying then by all means throw her under the bus. But really what reason does she have to do that, and isn't it kind of sad that you or anyone would want to persecute a 19 year old girl because of an idiot football player?

We have videos you dumbass. If it wasn't JJ then who could it have been? Too many witnesses already -- she was just the 3rd party homerun hitter the police needed. The fricking problem here is that some of you people already had your minds made up-- and you were wrong -- and now you need to gtf over it because the sooner this shite is over the better off the team will be.

No one ruined anyones lives but themselves. This girl didn't kick anyone in the face you freaking moron.

legally speaking, she is 3rd party. however, that does not mean she is credible or unbiased or useful at all
