LSUGoose has best advice. Stay at Lod Cook Hotel and eat/drink at The Chimes or Walk On's.

I am talking about Baseball. Mississippi State and LSU was always a rivalry in the 80s. Skip hated starkville and Polk hated LSU. It was and still is fun.

I don’t know how interested you are in Baton Rouge’s modest level of touristy things to do, but if you’re remotely interested in things like museums and reading plaques on the sides of buildings, a stay downtown near the state Capitol may be for you. Bengal Tap Room on 3rd street has the most tv’s in the area, should you be trying to catch a specific other game while downtown.
