BK/Frank have done a great job with this class so far, but to be fair it hurts to look at the top 10 players in the state of LA right now. 8 out of 10 might be going out of state?

That's probably just some of the growing pains with a new coach/staff coming in, but hopefully they can lock up LA in 2024 and beyond.

Very fair. They are building those relationships the best that they can. But I will say this. Arch was never coming. Eli was never coming. Tackett not interested in the SEC. Jaiden probably headed out of state like his brother. What rankings are you looking at?

He has a great set of assistant coaches, and recruiting has taken on a nationwide search... which is what he and his staff did at ND. Who's to say the top 8 in Louisiana this year are as good as or better than the out of state commitments coming in??? Each year is different. Only time will tell!

Definitely correct here and 2024 looks to be pretty weak in LA.

True & I trust their talent evaluation. I like the in-state guys that we are getting. It will be a great class regardless, but Frank knows more than anyone the amount of in-state talent LA. Might just be part of the new strategy with NIL. If they're only worried about making the most $, let them go wherever & they can transfer back home when they aren't playing in/winning any games.

NIL is going to make in state recruiting harder. There's less loyalty, and more money involved that ever before.

But

They may come back at some point too because it'll be easier with Portal.

Correct. Our instate dominance is over unless we offer more money or close enough. NIL has changed everything we know as a local recruiting force

He’s doing an amazing job getting guys from out of state and I hope the instate guys take notice.
Kelly does not have to rely on Instate talent

Top 10 in LA on 247. Outside of the 4 you mentioned:
Derek Williams (we've got two other S committed)
Omarion Miller (I'll take Sampson & Jalen Brown)
Kylin Jackson (same as Williams above)
Jordan Matthews/Curley Reed (would like either, but we've got Daylen Austin + 2 other CB committed)

He's had a relationship with Terry Joseph for years. Something the current staff is trying to work on. He even said he committed because of their relationship

Struggled at LSU camp and replaced by 5 * Jalen Brown

Currently leaning A&M but family wants him at LSU

LSU side has turned up the recruitment for Jordan. I believe that Reed is coming back from an injury?
