2. Auburn drops one to Georgia or Tennessee
3. Auburn beats Bama
that makes a three way tie. Right?
I think appropriate goals are
1. Beat bama. This is a goal every year.. and some of you are saying that just because it could "ruin" the 3-peat it shouldn't be a goal this year? that's stupid.
2. Get into a BCS game
3. Hope for the best and possibly get a SEC west championship.
4. win the SEC
The national championship might be out of reach but there is a shite ton left to play for.

I agree. We just need to play all of the opponents on our schedule to the best of our ability and see where the cards fall. To the other posters point, beating Bama will not assure they don't make the NC, a look at recent history will tell you that. But let's beat them and hope Auburn gets them in the Iron Bowl. I do think what is different about college football this year is at the end of the day (I know it is said every year) but we will have some unbeaten teams at seasons end. (FSU, OU, OSU)

I think the point is being missed here. Ruining bamas season is ALWAYS at the top of the list of things to do right behind NCG and SECCG. It just so happens that when the first two seem out of reach, the third becomes a necessity.

I'd rather see Oregon or Ohio St take it all. You don't want to see FSU's fans hyped up. They are 3x worse than gumps. I have lived among them. Somehow there are a number even here in Colo. All that being said, regardless of what happens this year, Bama will own La. talent for the next 2-3 years until we make some changes.

I don't think beating Bama would take them out of the race for the Natty...but HELL YES I want to beat their asses!!!!! And I have looked foward to this game all year. But I do think we still have something to play for even though it's not the Natty. BUT, we have some sucky wishy washy fans and I am not sure if I would want to be a player for LSU with all that get's said about the players and coaches after a loss!

Yep, the fans whiffed in that game. I don't have season tickets, can't afford them, but if I did it would take a death in the family to keep me away from the LSU uf game! I was fortunate to get a ticket to the LSU uga game in 03'. It was freaking hot, but damn was it electric!

The fact that people are posting these things should tell you everything you need to know about the state of LSU football.
I want LSU to beat Bama because I love LSU and want them to win every game, but the game this year is basically meaningless in the big picture thanks to Miles' inability to keep the team focused when all their goals were within reach.
The fact that we've been reduced to just hoping to ruin Bama's three-pete is sickening.
