SFP, I'm still waiting to hear how the BigEast is on the same level as the Big12.
he's been saying this for years... it's ingrained in his mind no matter the reality

they lost to multiple teams in their own weak conference a year ago
OSU lost to illinois last year, mainly b/c they couldn't defend the spread option with a legit fast QB
quote:
plus, the head of the dragon has been cut off of that system (that's all WV is - a system) and they have a hillbilly running the ship
oh i have no doubt WV will fall, but they still have a 2.5 year starter at QB this year and have him this yera until the wheels fall off

BE is not quite as good offensively, but a lot better defensively
Big 12 has WAY better talent on every side of the ball, including defense
yeah, much of the Big 12 struggled in pass defense last year but they also played a much greater quality of athlete/offense and schedule than the Big East

to say the Sooners were better is retarded
sooners could run and pass. OSU could only run

USC, LSU, FL and UGA were a notch above
UF, the team with 3 regular season losses (who lost to fricking UM last year)?
UGA, a team who was blown out?

talent isn't everything
just ask the 2006 UT secondary

not significantly
look at the top 30 offenses from both. i think the big east had 4-5, and the big12 had 7
the big east had a decisive edge in top 30 defenses

OSU lost to illinois last year,
that's ONE conference loss in a conference that has far more talent than the Big East
I'm no Big Ten fan, but come on, man...we're talking about the Big Least here

I think it starts this year - just like Brohm/Douglas/Uruttia failed in year one after Petrino bailed

OSU would beat WVU by 2 TD's...wouldnt be close
their DEF lost their 3 of their 4 best players from a year ago.
Boeckman may look shitty against LSU, but WV wouldnt make him look shity. He would throw all over them.

overall? maybe
spread out? no way. OSU and UM have a HUGE chunk of the 11-team talent pool. there's a huge gap b/w 2 and 3 and 3 and 5

the big east has/had some really good coaches

the offense didn't fail
brohm did better in 2007 than he had ever done before

Slow, if OSU played WVU and happened to get lucky and win, what would be the reasons the Buckeyes won?

Boekman, Hartline and Robiskie weren't bad at all for what they were asked to do... tOSU's style has always been to pound the football...it's the Big Ten
Plus, Demarco Murray is good but he is no Beanie Wells
Why does tOSU get penalized for being a run team?

yep, Tebow and crew would have beaten tOSU, OU and WV the majority of times they played any of those three teams and I say that pretty confidently

Boeckman may look shitty against LSU,
slow down
he looked shitty a lot more often than that. he barely passed for 2,000 yards on a team with vastly superior talent to every team they played against not named UM, and against defenses that rarely blitz
quote:

has boeckman EVER thrown it "all over" a team?
he had5 200+ yard games. ONE over 250 (0 over 300)
those 5 were: youngstown state, washington (104), purdue (75), minnesota (115), and PSU (39) [#s = pass D rankings in 1A]

UGA, a team who was blown out?
they would have been #4 behind LSU, USC and FL, but yeah... they were better than the second tier of top teams IMO

not in 2005 and 2006
they just haven't re-loaded their offensive talent levels. no more santonio holmes, tedd ginns, or troy smith's
just beanie wells
quote:
Why does tOSU get penalized for being a run team?
because their offensive talent fricking blows outside of beanie and a couple OL
you're the guy who falls in love with talent. where is it on OSU?
and OU passes and runs. it isn't all just about passing (but i am leery to expect murray to be 100%)

cause they play each other
but this would mean they should have a disproportionate # of top 30 offenses
they have fewer, but the lead the big12 has is lesser
and playing everyone means that the good teams all have to play each other. there are no kansas or missouri stories from the big east becuase of this. the big12 also has more shitty teams to pad stats
it works both ways

if talent is EVERYTHING, explain these situations:
a. UM sucking balls last year
b. UT's 2006 secondary being one of the worst in D1A with 2, 1st round picks and a 1st day talent as 3/4 starters
c. your love of OSU's offense when it lacks talent at QB, WR, and TE
