How about Hines Ward?

a slow, thickly-built WR who is more renowned for his blocking than breakaway threat?

sounds just like shep

Toliver - Bowe

Skinnier version, both tall and good after catch

Randle - Davis

I would say more like LaFell, if we are comparing him to a Tiger.

Shepard - Doucet

I don't see this at all. Early was built like a RB and had great hands. Shepard is much faster than Early Doucet.

Yes, that might be the best comparison yet

Ok, looking at the variety of inputs, perhaps the following is best?

Toliver (at his best) perhaps compares to the style/size of Jerry Rice

Randle (at his best) perhaps compares to the style/size of Chad Ochocinco

Shepard (at his best) perhaps compares to the style/size of Marvin Harrison

That would be a good crop of receivers to say the least...

You are a moron, seriously. How the hell can you make that comparison?

You didn't watch much of Jerry Rice, did you? He was not incredibly fast, he ran perfect routes and had amazing hands. Toliver runs shitty routes and has pretty crappy hands. Not much of a comparison there.

Seriously. This could be the most homerfied thread I have ever seen. You are literally comparing a guy who caught less than 30 balls last year to Marvin Harrison, a kid who still hasn't lived up to his potential in TT to the greatest receiver in the history of football, and the man of a single facial expression to a top 5 WR and perennial pro-bowler Andre Johnson. Makes perfect sense.

Best? Marvin Harrison was a possession receiver, not a receiver to who could take it to the house at any given moment.

then you have not opened up the QB thread that throws CG to the dogs. All three of these WR will likely be 1st round picks. Any of the three could be a #1 receiver on half of the SEC teams, and possibly all the SEC teams. This is likely the best group of WR's LSU has ever had, but yeah its kind of silly to compare college WR's to the top tear NFL WR's, but most of the posters are just trying to compare style.

Exactly. It is who they remind you of in style and body type. It would seem that folks could figure that one out without making more out of it than that. And yes, all 3 of these dudes have the potential (you know, not a given, but if they develop and live up to their best ability) to be eventual 1st rounders.
