I don't know which douchebags I hate more, the anti greek figs, or the pro administration cumrags.
It's a real toss up.

Don't blame that on today's students. That crap happened in 1988! They intermittently take the TR away b/c the student section will do the...ha..ha...ha...ha...a-hole...a-hole. I'm sure '88 wasn't the first to do it!

I read half of the thread and decided it was time for me to post. I have been a student at LSU from '02- current. I will explain some of what has gone on over the past years.
When I first started going to the games as a STUDENT the crowds were amazing and the student section was bigger. The cuss words were still said but a few of the chants weren't there. It wasn't until I would say the last few years that I ever heard people say BITCH instead of GIRL in "Hey Baby." I think it is funny and have participated in it when I was in undergrad.
The UF and AU games last year were the loudest. This year the crowd isn't that loud because of the opponnents. I think this week will change everyones mind about our current perception amongst tiger fans.
The cheers that have been removed have taken away from the wildness of the student section. It kept us going. We always had something to chant or do. I like the addition of neck but I think this has been the only good addition in recent years that I can think of.
The higher requirements of getting into LSU and IMO there is a generational difference with these new students. We hadn't won one when I first got there. Now we have 2 in the past 5 years and this little kids are spoiled.
SOrry this was so long but my point is it is everything and not one thing. UGA is our test and if the SS doesn't step up, you may hear more grumbling.

If there is any change, it is probably for one reason.
LSU fans used to get excited, thrilled to beat Auburn, UGA, etc in during the 2003 season.
Now we expect to.

you hear cursing but not in mass chant
You need to go to a Wisconsin gam to hear cussing in mass chant. Its quite impressive.

There is nothing more pathetic than someone pining for the "good ole days."
I guarantee you that the student section will be loud this week.
They were deafening at least year's Florida game.
And, no, I am not a student. I haven't been a student for ten years.

I remember the first time I got to sit in the student section, in 1986 when I was sixteen...
The profanity was loud, beautifully obnoxious, and CONSTANT. I think that was the first time I'd ever heard 15,000 college kids screaming "a-hole," but it definitely wasn't the last time...Let the kids get crazy. You're only in college for a few years (some longer than others, of course) and if you want to make an arse of yourself, then that is definitely the time and place to do it.

quote:We have been using curse words in the student section forever. Go to Hell Ole Miss and kick their arse after the 1st down cheer but lately it has gotten really bad and embarrassing. Case in point the 1st down cheer. When I 1st started we said kick their arse instead of LSU. Then it somehow developed into "kick their arse, and beat the shite out of them" Now it's kick their arse, and beat the shite out of them... BITCH" Makes me sick. We cursed to an extent but not so much and so loud that it is obvious on TV.

Only after the announcement of USC losing. Before that it was just another stadium. Florida and Auburn this year and Alabama last year have been better in stadium atmospheres and louder than Tiger Stadium except when the USC losing announcement.

there is nothing wrong with the student section... its not gonna be the same as it was 10 years ago or 1 year ago. its gonna change, get over it. most of us will probably think that we cheared harder than the others, but there is no actual way to tell. so stop bitching about the student section and bitch about our opponent... or maybe that keiland williams is the man

SWEET!!!!! I, for one...did both! Got a good education...and loved the ball games (even though we sucked in football 3 of the 4 years).
