re: The scariest thing about Nuss…

I’m not one of those guys who says pro style QB’s are obsolete because they’re not
But a bad running QB is infinitely better than a bad pro style QB. At least running is simple and is always somewhat of a threat. JD5 was not a great passer his first year but he could at least run.
Nuss is absolute dog shite and I hope we’re not in a position to need him next year

Nuss needs to be taught how to read defenses. The OL needs to bench worthless players like Chester. The WRs need to hang on to balls when they’re thrown in their hands.

While JD was hesitant his first year, he protected the ball
THAT was the only gripe I recall - certainly the only gripe I ever expressed. I thought he waited way too long for someone to be wide open and would run the ball rather than risk an incompletion or interception.
He had the great advantage that his "runs" were more dangerous to the overall DEFENSE than his hesitancy to risk an interception.
Once he trusted his ability to put the ball into tight coverage he became the best college QB I've ever seen. His decision making and run potential and passing accuracy put him in class by himself.

Slow at processing
Constantly backpedaling
Not taught to step up in pocket
However,
Lots of Potential !!!

I’ve defended him over and over all year to my wife and daughter (both Tiger fans). Let’s say that riding the Nuss bus would be their last choice of public transportation. Not a fan. I’m beginning to lean their way as I see a qb with decent mobility that rarely runs. Has a really good arm, is a gunslinger, but believes in his arm to a fault. Yes, I’m starting to see Jamie Howard.
That’s a scary thought.

Hard to believe we're still saying this, but he needs to either get his feet set (stop backing up), or step up and through the pocket (the space is there).

Has Sloan said anything about how Bama disguised their defenses against LSU?

I haven't seen it from Sloan, but during the game it appeared they crowded the line but then dropped most men back.
Obviously they know we don't have a real ground game and Nuss almost pathologically won't run either, so dropping off en masse makes sense, but damn, still, six TOs in six quarters by our QB?
Hard to win like that.

Well again first year starting.

So how would you like to see him react?
Stoic with good bearing. Acknowledge it then but it behind him.

If 2024 Nuss was the QB on the 2023 Team, LSU would have lost 5 games.
