I'm saying that it could be a reason he said there was no plan to fire him at that time.

I know. But at the time that was the general thought by everyone, not just him.

Also, I haven't seen an outlet report that Kelly wanted to fire Baker instead of Sloan, despite that being the case.

That was not the case lol.

100% the case.

Kelly wanted to fire Baker and Atkins. Keep Sloan and Davis. I don't care what has been reported. This came from someone in the room.

Philly, if Saban takes the job you will go down as the GOAT of tigerdroppings.

Doesn’t matter how it plays out…Philly has been reliable. Everything he says is true. If Saban accepts or declines. Philly is trustworthy and not a troll.

This statement is very crawfishy.

I asked Gemini to analyze Phillytiger9's post:

The post utilizes several characteristic phrases often seen in non-official, "insider" rumor posts:

?"Was told before the weekend...":

This establishes a personal connection to a source, but one that is vague and unverifiable. "The weekend" gives a time stamp that is just recent enough to feel current.

?"LSU had a legit offer on the table for Nick":

The use of the word "legit" is an attempt to inject credibility. It's a common qualifier in rumors ("real offer," "serious interest") designed to counter the natural skepticism people have toward unconfirmed reports.

?"He is considering that offer seriously":

This keeps the story alive and interesting. It confirms the "stakes" are high, making the source's information seem important.

?"Control and details being worked out":

This adds a layer of sophistication and complexity to the rumor. It suggests the author is privy to the substance of the negotiations (i.e., it's not just about money, but power/autonomy), which makes the claim feel more informed than a simple "he's going."

?"Obviously with nothing signed this is far from done and there’s a bit of ways to go...":

This is the classic "cover-your-butt" clause. It allows the author to be right if the news breaks and protects them if the deal falls apart, allowing them to say, "I told you it was far from done."

?"...but the rumors are starting to heat up.":

This frames the author as simply confirming a general trend, not starting a new one, which subtly shifts responsibility for the rumor's existence to others.

The Verdict: Bullshitting or Telling the Truth?

?I would lean towards the author being Bullshitting (or, more charitably, passing along an unverified rumor from a very optimistic source).

?My Guess: 70% bullshite / 30% Legitimate Rumor

Yes. He thought he was untouchable because of the $$. Walked out of the meeting and calls were made immediately after that. As soon as he left that meeting with Woodward, he was done.

lol baker wasn’t the issue. It doesn’t help when you have zero offense. I don’t believe he wanted to fire baker.

Well aware. That's why he was fired. It made no sense.

I'll trust the source on that particular piece of information over every single person on the planet.

ETA: Not going to argue about this lol. This has already happened so it doesn't even matter. Just passing along what I know to be true. You don't have to believe me

Lmao good call. He posted the post below. Jase Mathews committed to Auburn 4 days later. Darius Gray committed to South Carolina 18 days later. Blaine Bradford still hasn’t flipped. Sounds like his source was locked in hahaha.

Big time recruits/high school kids lie and change their mind for breakfast, and it’s not like he said they were locks. Hell, maybe his source felt good about them at the time

Not taking sides, just saying that feels like a reach in terms of knocking the guy
