The baseball team watched this video, and our season has completely turned around.

What a speech!

For those who haven’t heard or watched it. This is the LINK

Thanks Ryan. Forever LSU!

Didn’t we lose two out of the three games directly following this?

That was after we lost the Friday game to Arkansas. We'd go on to split the next two in that series, beat UNO then took 2/3 from Auburn.

People want to credit Theriot, it's whatever. I prefer to give credit to the players and staff for buckling down and to us getting healthy.

ETA: The Arkansas series was a thurs-friday-saturday. Point stands.

Nah. We lost then won. But even the loss was a decent game.

No, we won 4 games straight before dropping the 3rd game against Auburn.

Ryan is probably different in person, but he’s a total douche on Mascona. He tries too damn hard to come off his witty and answering simple questions (Ryan, what’s your favorite color) will make his brain go into overdrive.

Don't you think this at least had a small roll in getting those players to buckle down. I would sure as hell want to change the way I do things after being blasted like that.

No idea. I don't know how closely the players pay attention to local sports talk radio. Hopefully not much.

Sure. Maybe if he spoke directly to the team or something. I would hope that radio chatter doesn't affect them one way or the other, though maybe it does.

The rant was on Friday after the Thursday night loss to Arkansas.

Yeah my bad. By Friday game I meant the first game of the series. But yes, it was after the Thursday game.

Theriot is a tool and the wake up call for the team was not Theriot

I think they're funny and I enjoy their banter. Take them for what they are and appreciate it.

Jesus Christ, man! Ever hear of Occam's razor? The simplest explanation is the right one. We were getting killed because of a lack of pitching. CPM and Dunn gave the three young pitchers extended rest in an all-or-nothing gamble that we would get them back in time for postseason. It worked for two out of three. First, Marceaux came back, and we got a little better. Then Henry came back, and we got a LOT better.

But yeah, about that time Theriot had a rant, and I got the hair removed from my scrotum. So take your pick:

1. Theriot's rant
2. Penrod's nutsack
3. OUR frickING PITCHERS CAME BACK!!!!

I have no doubt it reached a certain portion of upperclassmen who reacted the way they should've all year. No way it had no effect.

That's like the point of radio? To make everything you say somewhat interesting

You couldn’t be more wrong about Theriot. He’s a damn good dude. I dig it in Friday’s when he’s on Mascona’s show.
