1. Innovative
2. Not too many stops or experience
3. His peach fuzz is beginning to grow.
4. No gray hairs and doesn’t take Viagra.
5. “Up and coming”
6. Has secret knowledge that no other coach knows.

Why is wanting a potential E replacement a bad thing?

Who said that this hire was E's replacement? When is E leaving? Slow the f down.

We have some of the dumbest fans on earth. They will complain about any hire O makes. Just let them complain.

That’s true to some extent, but I’m still trying to be objective.

Didn’t complain about Pelini.

Didn’t complain about Brady.

If a hire is questionable people will question it.

I think it’s safe to assume E isn’t leaving in the immediate future (maybe not for a while?). If he was, I’m pretty sure he would’ve gone ahead and retired to avoid all this drama. My feeling is E has 3-4 years left

Orgeron has done nothing but the right thing for the program ever since he was named HC. Whatever his decision is I will trust it. He has shown that he wants nothing short of greatness. If it is the wrong hire he will figure it out and make the decision to remove the guy from staff.

What about hiring Canada?

What about hiring Ensminger and Sullivan to put together a modern offense?

O has done a great job but he isn’t perfect.

The linehan bashing is insane. He has been promoted out of the PGC in the NFL to OC. He has been an OC 4 times and a head coach once. He isnt being asked to run the entire offense or even call all the plays unless steve asks him too. This is a great hire.

You mean you read these things:

1. Young and hungry
2. Innovative
3. Comes from a modern spread/powerful offensive coaching tree (Payton/Reid/Riley/etc.)

And you made a bunch of stupid assumptions from it that you thought were funny.

ETA:

I'm not melting over the hire, it just a PGC. However, people questioning the hire over valid reasons is not over-the-top. Most of us wanted to see something along the path of Joe Brady. Ensminger and Brady worked so well because E is the old guard, steady hand that knows how to be the OC. Brady was the creative young guy that infused new ideas through the filter of E.

Now we just have two Ensmingers.

I'm sure it'll be fine, but the criticisms appear valid.

“If a hire is questionable people will question it.“

And who are these so called “people”?

Experts with TAF points?
High school kids?
Fans that have watched every play since Charlie Mac?

O just put together the greatest team in CFB history, and exactly one month later is ripped for doing his job with no results to speak of. Just past history and theory to bitch about.

We really have the worst “internet” fans.

I thought the fad of "Head Coach in waiting" was dumb. The idea of "OC in waiting" is mind bottling?

What other team HAS to have its OC already on staff for whenever the OC hangs it up? It is a silly concept to me tha LSU needs to hire a dude to be the dude when the current dude stops being the dude. I mean, DUDE!

Maybe because the possible "replacement" just might end up in the NFL, ala Mr. Brady!!, Nothing wrong with a older guy that has experience and provide some possible stability for the next 4-5 years, esp. if he ends up doing a fine job with Lsu

Brady was brought in to teach Ensminger and the team new concepts. I mean, thats literally why he was asked to come to BR for a seminar when he worked with the Saints.

"passing game coordinator" was just a title to give him so he could be in the booth calling plays while Ensminger would check his work.

What does Linehan bring thats new to Ensminger or grows what Brady started?

Jesus people want to talk about sports.

If you don’t want to talk about sports than this isn’t the website for you.

It’s not a news site, that just reports Os benevolent doings without comment.

Sports is what you talk AFTER a sporting event. This isn’t that. This is degrading a career of a man that the vast majority of us know nothing about, other than watching other people play a sport we love. That’s sad.
