So we converted 40% of our 3rd downs against Oregon. The previous 2 years we converted 38% of our 3rd downs. I guess that is a huge improvement...
no, we completed 40 percent of 3rd downs where j lee threw a pass on a down and distance of more than 7 yards.
3rd and 4- the rbs will pick up more times that not, much like ridley did last year.

Jefferson going to be back by game 6. book it.

If jefferson is back by week 6 and we are 6-0...he can keep the bench nice and warm.
Just cause he's back doesn't mean he's regained the team's trust.

So JJ will ride pine and scowl at the gatorade like he did when JL was winning 3 games for us last year.

I've always preferred Lee to be the starter with JJ coming off the bench. Hopefully we will get JJ and Shep back soon. I was hoping Shep would be running the Wild Tiger a few plays every game.
Why? its obvious lee needs time to settle into the game, JJ regresses as the game goes on. Lee needs someone to take the first few series jitters away then he is fine.

If hes back then he wasnt found guilty. His teammates were wearing his number on their arms, he doesnt need their trust, he already has it you idiot.

well, there was that one time he cheered for a Lee TD at UF. but maybe he was cheering for the other 10 guys, because we all know he hates Jarrett.

So you would take a guy who hasn't practiced in 7 weeks and throw him right back in as the starter when we are on a 6-0 roll?
And I'm the idiot...

Jefferson scowling? Do you have a link to that?
Because I know there is video of Jefferson cheering for Lee in the Florida game.

150 yards in dropped passes/penalty brought back. Most of which were first down passes. Lee did fine.

Let's define the situation more clearly. Lee only needs to do three things effectively for the Tiger Offense to improve over the last three seasons.
1. Limit turnovers and mistakes.
2. Keep drives alive in passing 3rd down situations, keeping the D off the field and rested.
3. Provide a credible play action pass threat.
JJ wasn't ever a turnover machine, but he slipped last year. Lee needs to improve on that this season.
Over the last three years, LSU has ranked near the bottom of the FCS in just about ever passing stat. The lack of a credible passing game lead to two things. First, the offense couldn't run enough plays to gain momentum and become more effective, which was magnified by the changing of clock rules a few years ago, which shortens games. This also has a negative effect on the defense, which ends up playing a disproportionate number of snaps and getting tired out.
Second, the lack of a passing game allows defenses to stack the box and limit the run game. How many teams have slowed LSU down with this no-brainer tactic the last three years? Think about the games where LSU was able to break out of it. The Bama and Texas A&M games from last season immediately come to mind. In both games, JJ started making plays in the passing game, forcing the defense to retreat from the line. Once that happened, LSU's running attack became dominant, and wore down the opponent.
Lee showed flashes with a couple of deep balls in the Oregon game. The one called back for the holding penalty wasn't perfect, but it wasn't 10 yards over the receiver's head like we have gotten used to. He also showed perfect touch on the over the shoulder throw to Peterson, so I think there is real reason for hope here. Other than the A&M game last year, and Georgia Tech in the 08 peach Bowl, JJ just hasn't been able to provide this for the offense, and for a running team, that is BAD NEWS. Lee doesn't have to have 2000 yards passing and 20 TDs. He just needs to take care of the ball and get the 8th and 9th guys out of the box. That's all it takes for the offense to really get going.

It's not going to matter one bit whether JJ or Lee is QB. Not sure why anyone still thinks one is better than the other. JJ will return, LSu will need both.
