Great kid, great season all things considered. JD was exactly what we needed this year.

I’ve seen a lot of people compare JD to Burrow and the massive jump Burrow made from Y1 to Y2 - I’d love to convince myself something like this might be possible but JD just doesn’t have the arm strength period.

His accuracy and ability to read defenses and make good/quick decisions is also questionable for any QB who gets sacked 40+ times in a season.

We can’t win an NC with him, that much is clear. If BK feels like our roster next year can’t win an NC with Nuss or any other QB then maybe consider keeping KD as the starter but hopefully we have the roster and we find the QB that doesn’t have clear limiting factors

You probably posted the same thing about Joe. Collegiate players improve over time.

Saying we absolutely can’t win a national championship with JD is moronic.

New and fresh.

And by that, I mean old, stale, and at least a tad bit moronic.

problem with daniels is that he has regressed terribly. almost like his camp is telling him not to be risky with the football because int's are what matter, not challenging the DB's downfield.

He threw for 200 yards on one of the best defenses in the country in 1 half on 1 foot.

He’s started 3 full seasons and over 40 games, he’s not learning how to read a defense or throw a spiral in 1 off season

This can be developed

If JD really threw himself at growing in the offseason, if LSU brought in guys to help him grow in these areas, JD could be unstoppable next year and be a top 5 pick next year

His running talent is top shelf - up there with the best runners in the NFL right now. He has pretty good throwing mechanics (always can improve). His processing and release timing is where his issue lies and those 100% can be fixed/improved

How do people continue to ignore the fact that the biggest reason Burrow made such an improvement from 2018 to 2019 is because the offensive approach/playcalling COMPLETELY changed from 18 to 19 as well. It wasn't just an instance of Burrow getting dramatically better in the same offense from year to year.

For Daniels, he has now made 40+ college starts. He more or less is who he is in terms of strengths and weaknesses. He didn't have a bad year by any means this season. However, the LSU offense was relatively inconsistent. Particularly in the passing game. So to think he is going to make a huge jump in performance from this year to next without any adjustment to the offensive approach is probably foolish. IMO, the question is will LSU make adjustments to fit Daniel's strengths a little bit better in next year's offensive approach? Clearly whatever LSU is trying to do with him in the passing game just isn't overly effective. So the "fix" is to either change what you do in the passing game a bit, or change the QB. But to continue to keep the same approach with the same QB isn't going to work. That was the ENTIRE reason the Les Miles offense struggled. He constantly kept trying to fit a square peg in a round hole.

he threw some good passes but even the long one he threw was off target. he probably shouldn't have been playing on 1 foot to begin with.

The point is you said he regressed when it showed otherwise against one of if not the best defense in the country.

his stats are very misleading for the 1st half. resulting in 10 total points. he yards per attempt being very low. I think he had 24 pass attempts in 2 quarters of play and 10 points to show for it.
