Nothing an issue right now because it hasn’t even happened.

But given Allevas track record the buyout is going to be large.

Well, commence the meltdown by all means.

Every buyout is bigger the more years you have left on the deal.

Almost every one of those coaches has 2-3 more years left than O

Is contract for 5 years had a 16 million dollar buyout. I cant Imagine an extension to make Os contract 5 years will have less of one.

I’ll stop panicking if you agree not to crawfish on your position once the details come out.

If I’m wrong, call me out I’ll admit I was A chicken little.

If the buyouts over 16 mill, don’t start down the “well it’s what other coaches get” storyline.

Roger, don’t be a pussy.

Have some conviction
You are willing to double down on Leach not running an Air Raid but you’re gonna be a fence rider on this?

Having conviction has absolutely nothing to do with this.

Why is O being lauded for hauling in a top class in a year Louisiana is loaded with multiple 5 star talents and a plethora of top 100 kids.

You all are acting like he’s done the unimaginable here. He’s had the worst rated class in like 15 years when he didn’t have Louisiana with a major load of great talent in the class. He’s done nothing new with recruiting and it isn’t better than Miles has done when Louisiana was loaded. Somehow he’s improving things though.

LSU has 3 top 5 classes in Miles’ last three years including two top 2 finishes. Ed isn’t doing better as far as total talent is concerned.

As much as you like to portray yourself as such a positive guy, you're on here every day promoting the negativity. You like it in a weird way.

You could just not acknowledge it, but you mention it constantly.

Extending the buyout is no big deal. Enlarging the buyout is a problem.

His buyout is dirt cheap anyway. It's not going to prevent him from being fired.

Agreed, we don't need to make it ungodly large like we did Miles' back in 2013

We didn’t need to make it 16 mill in 2017.

But we did

Bottom line: WE DON'T WANT OPPOSING COACHES TO NEGATIVELY RECRUIT AGAINST US BY RAISING DOUBT IN THE RECRUIT'S AND RECRUIT'S FAMILY'S MIND AS TO THE STATUS OF O IN HIS EMPLOYMENT AS LSU HC. WE MADE SUCH A HUGE BREAKTHROUGH IN RECRUITING THIS YEAR AND CURRENTLY RANK NO. 2 OVERALL FOR 2020, THE PLAYERS LOVE PLAYING FOR O, AND Y'ALL WANT TO SEND US BACK TO SQUARE 1 IN THAT RESPECT. WHEN IT COMES TO COLLEGE RECRUITING, THE SCHOOL SELLING ITSELF ISN'T SUFFICIENT, THE RECRUITS COMMIT TO A COACH AND WANT TO BE ASSURED THAT COACH IS THEIR COACH DURING THEIR COLLEGE CAREER FOR THE MOST PART OTHERWISE THEY'LL PURSUE OTHER COLLEGIATE OPPORTUNITIES AND MORE STABLE SITUATIONS.

God, y'all should be executed for treason with this treacherous rhetoric about the extension at this time.

Either time left on the contract makes a coach look stable or winning makes a coach look stable

2017 9-4 4 years left on contract
2018 class 15

2018 10-3 NY6 bowl 3 years left on contract
2019 class (currently 8 with lots of room to rise)

It seems like recruits understand winning is what keeps a coach around not his contract length.

It's winning, being a good salesman, succeeding in recruiting as we currently are, having a good reputation with your players, and the assurance that that coach with that good player reputation is around for a substantive period to deter negative recruiting tactics FACTS

This might be a little extreme. Maybe reeducation camp is more like it.

You just listed succeeding in recruiting as a key to succeeding in recruiting.

However, you didn’t list having a long contract.

Because I’m not sucking Os unit like you?

He doesn’t need a contract extension this year to recruit. Even you admitted that before you edited your post like a punk.

No kid is dumb enough to be convinced a coach with a top 10 team is about to be fired.

You’re a fricking moron if you think that.

Also O is a great recruiter. I feel Like he may be able to address this recruiting by saying “I’m kicking arse, and I’m not even halfway through my contract. I’m not going anywhere”

Schools will negatively recruit against LSU if the head coach isn't under contract for more than 3 years.

Can someone tell me how this myth suddenly became conventional wisdom?
