The turnovers were not giveaways, but takeaways (that's actually part of deciding who the better team is and is not excusable)

Try convincing any team we beat last year of this fact. LSU forces turnovers and they are established as lucky every time. You come across more people calling it luck than acknowldeging the talent on LSU's side of the ball. They will say 'Yea, LSU's D is good, but they get lucky with their turnovers'

I usually end the conversation there.

I know what you are saying but for a 3 vs. 4 matchup it was a blowout. Oregon did score a garbage TD.

I forgot how much of a nailbiter it was for the first 3 quarters

Not three quarters. Two. By the end of the third quarter, it was over.

I was watching from outside the stadium; after the third quarter my wife and I got some people's tickets (Oregon Fans) as they were walking out. The stadium crew let us 'back' in and I got to see the stadium (big Cowboys fan) and watch the final 10 minutes or so.

Nailbiters aren't games where you can do that.

I agree with most of this. It was close at half-time but the 3rd was all LSU. That said, because Oregon is so explosive on O, even a 3 TD lead can be deceiving.

Few other comments:
a) Oregon was struggling to run the ball. Seems like they only had about 50 yds rushing through 3 qtrs.
b) I thought JL played good, not great, considering he was only named the starter a week earlier (is that correct?). He seemed to know where he was supposed to throw the ball and allowed our O to function (as opposed to dysfunction). Also, didn't Clement drop a couple of passes and Jarvis Landry another early in the game?

How many times had LSU played the new Oregon before that game?

I can understand LSU fans thinking it was over with a 20 point lead.

As I pointed out, USC had a 24-7 lead in the 3rd quarter and Oregon closed at the end to within 3 points.

I felt the game was over too because I forgot the shite Oregon pulls...hate to say it, but no game is over with them even when you think you're dominating them.

(And LSU did cause the turnovers...but that's no big prize...early in his career you touch Black Mamba with a pinkie and he fumbled. ) Frankly, he shouldn't even been on the field he was so raw and starstruck but that's Chip's fault for acting like he was opening with New Mexico State.

He was on the field due to injury, not because Chip was star struck. That's the game of football though.

Injury, or cramping? I remember a ton of ducks cramping in that game. They seemed a little ill-prepared to play a fast paced defense that had been preparing well for their fast paced offense.

Anyways that game is in the past; like I said I'd like to play y'all again.

Both, as well as Cliff Harris being suspended.

Y'all? Not my official team although I'm a huge fan.

Eta....definitely in the past, I only chimed in to correct the SC fan.

You should have read my handle I've lived in the NW most of my life, mostly Oregon. I've been going to games since they sucked in the late 80's.

No Internet then or too many ways to get to watch an LSU game so I needed a football fix. It was either them or the even worse beavers
