The highest paid coordinator in the country is expected to have his defense perform as the best defense in the country at all times. That's part of being that highly paid, the expectations are gonna be there.

His performance has been steady since he's been here. I don't see why any fan feels entitiled to better results just because he got a pay raise.

They just want to deflect from the fact that without the A&M and a bowl game against UCF the offense is still sitting around the 80 to 100 mark and that guy is still knocking down almost a mil.

Also, given that Aranda was more impressive versus Alabama in the first half than Venebles was, missing his starting lb and having an offense that went 3 and out 50% of the time, 5 and out once and fumbled another time... im not sure what they are talking about.

I don't feel like it's a fan being entitled to anything. The thread was about the boss yelling at an employee that's the highest paid assistant coach in the country. The boss is the one with the expectations that I was talking about.

Believe me, I'm not deflecting from anything. Aranda is my favorite coach on LSU's campus, but he's not above criticism or being chewed out by his boss if they give up a big, crucial play.

Hey that's cool. I like that trick you did. Just pull the stats out you dislike to help back up your point.

Man, someone should have thought of this before.

Aranda's defense only gave up 22 points that game, including that play. Aranda made a decision early to not play loose zone, but to bring pressure... just like Clemson did against Alabama. Running deep zone with those same DBs would have resulted in a touchdown. The guy dropped a dime in perfect coverage, only because the defense was tired from the 2 previous 3 and outs. Jacoby stevens was too tired to catch the qb stepping up - he had gotten back there.

Hindsight 20/20 - Chavis would have played deep zone and gotten beaten underneath.

22 points is what the defense gave up. That includes 1 in the final minutes of the game and that one before half after the offense 3 and outted twice. Down 8 starters against a no huddle tempo offense.

If O isn't going to chew out Ensminger, he has no business biting the hand that feeds him.

I don't disagree with the idea that there should be uniform treatment. But, it sounds like you have more of an issue with him not getting on E than him getting on Aranda. The boss gets to do what he wants though, that's part of being the boss. It may also be that he's a defensive coach and expects more out of his defensive staff.

Your assuming he was directly screaming at Aranda for the TD. It’s likely they prepared all week and drilled it into the coverage guy during practice, called the defense to cover the play based on down and distance and the player failed to cover. It’s likely he was directing the anger to Aranda to tell the guy to get his head out his arse and follow directions.

No. My problem is a guy that doesn't understand the complexities that a defensive coordinators has to deal with jumping his shite. Not 1 school in this country would hire Ed Orgeron to be their defensive coordinator. You have the best DC in the country, and this game is only close at this point because your offense gave up 7 and just went 3 and out twice, after a depleted defense got you the ball without getting points. The 1 thing he decides to flip out about is a deep pass - as though he knows more than Aranda?

Looking at the end of the game - Aranda held that team to 22 points - given everything i've already mentioned. Ed was wrong to say anything.

I posted the guy a link of Orgeron criticizing the offense earlier.

Coach o is a very fiery guy and that’s one of the things I like about him. He wants to win he has the passion for winning and I would like to see more of this on the sidelines

The head coach gets to say what he wants when he wants to whoever he wants. That's just the way the world works. The boss gets to be in charge whether us fans like it or not.

Yea - leadership position here. I know that. Of course he can do what he wants. I'm saying that it wasn't wise for him to do so, in the long run. Time will tell.

Well earlier you kinda said that the higher paid you are the more expectations are on you.

I personally think salary doesnt play into the equation at all....but that was your assertion.

I meant with the yelling and screaming. But, in what world is there not more expected of a person the more that they get paid?
