doubt it. its basically just a retread article of what was in the advocate a week or so ago and that didnt do anything to limit the threads.

what to do with the land the old box is on.

I always thought it would be a parking lot for football?

Any chance that article will limit the number of "the new box won't be ready" threads?

ZERO, unless I start a whole new thread with the link and they sticky it.

I remember reading an article where they interviews big Joe the Marshall. He said "I know why they are doing it but, I don't like it".

I've tlaked to him quite a few times during games and he's always said it would be a parking lot.

Is there a chart online that shows which sections of the stadium have TAF fees and which ones don't?
I found it on my computer at home and uploaded it. The chart you want is on page 7.

When both the softball and baseball stadiums vent out for bid both were over budget (most projects post Kitrina were 20-30% over budget, and bot projects budgets were established based on pre-Kitrina costs).

I dont understand how this all works but the price of materials has finally come down to pre-Katrina levels in the past 3-4 months. I talked with several who are in charge of getting bids for different bldgs at LSU. Over the past 3-4 years only 1-2 companies would place a bid on the project because of construction costs. Now new bldgs like the new choppin hall received like 10-12 bids.

They are just now laying rebar and cement for the parking lot which is a substantial cost. But the price of concrete has dropped quite a bit in the past year alone. I recently had another qoute from the same guy on a new patio and sidewalks in the backyard and it came out cheaper now. He said it was because the price of concrete has fallen.

Home Run Bleachers in the new stadium will be the same bleachers brought over from the old stadium

i think this is a bit crazy too...why don't they just go ahead and put bench back seats out in left field like they did down the 3rd and 1st base lines

you will also not be able to see the new score board which will be behind you.

Thats another thing I dont get.. Why is the scoreboard behind the fans instead out in RF where there are no fans? If they dont put the intimidator back up then thats just an empty area. I have a strong feeling the reason for the 50 TAF fee for the LF bleachers is because they were popular at the old box. But this will definitly not be the case if they put on restrictions. Those will quickly fall in renewal rates if they ban tailgating back there.

Humm, lots of complaints about complaints and rants on people who have old school values here. For the person that started this, I agree to this old school principle - "Right or Wrong, the customer is always right...

And for you those who put their nose in the air to fellow fans and neighbors because they play the Jones game; read chapter 10 article 9 of "The Great Deluge." Plus, these LSU fans complaining here aren't defecating in your seats!!!

is there gonna be a small scoreboard on top of the grandstand(or anywhere) so i can at least know the game situation for those of us in HR bleachers?

as to why they didnt put it in RF i have no idea but they are suppose to put a berm in RF eventually so that could be why. just a guess.

Quit bitching! Those bleachers aren't that old anyway. On top of that, you're probably the guy that goes/cares when they're winning

I have not seen anything indicating that there would be anything else other than the big scoreboard.. I guess you could just turn around depending on where you sit.. But it might be hard to read too. Would help to have a small digital scoreboard along the RF baseline. But havent seen anything about this.

I think the OP had a legit gripe. It definitly caused me not to purcahse my tickets in that section. What I dont get though is that you choose to sit in that section.. If you dont like it you should not select to sit in the OF. He could have gotten tickets in the non taf fee areas and fixed his gripe. The packet that LSU sent out clearly stated that the LF and RF lines would have bleachers with back and the OF would not. Now they never formally stated it would be the exact same bleachers or if tailgating would be allowed but what can you expect?

my main reason for not being that upset is eventhough they're they old bleachers with no backs the sight line from the HR bleachers is so much better than if you're sitting down the line. so really im ok with it. just saying it wouldve been nice to have something new since everything else in the park is new.

Best response. After all is said and done this is the most important thing.
